Something that stood out so much is just how hesitant he was with the GT86. People will say this and that about the cars stock power until you get behind the wheel, know what your doing, and understand the intent behind its creation than your forced to say. oh my. ok yeah theres something to this here, and thats because there is and its shocking to those who underestimate the power/handling ability. Lack of skill doesnt constitute a poor car, it is the modernized version of the AE86/2000gt in almost every sense.

Man. throw that weight to to front on entry, then throw steering input and floor it, be violent with it. that's why I used used the word throw. Also I think in the RS traction control was still on. I like the idea of the 86 but it needs more power and for what it cost no way in hell would I buy that car. Still try again with more input on ALL the -drifting- bits both cars will go sideways much more than shown here, as will ANY car. peace

A real drifter can drift the GT86, considering the AE86 has much less power, only 130 bhp, it's just not correct to say it needs more power to be 'driftable'. I agree to make it a fully balanced competitive car, it could do with some more BHP, but the review here is meant to be about drifting.

No one knows this but me but the GT86 has a secret tune in some cars, it's a real subtle change but when racing you can see the difference.
Some 86's usually an orange 86 it has something installed called -Eurobeat-
It can power the 86's horsepower by 86-150. It's really good.

Sad fact is that the Focus has too much grip with the optional tires. Having driven one on the stock tires it does power oversteer at will even without drift mode. And driving one on snow does show it really is rear balanced setup as the rear is always hanging out in every corner.

If the rim is wider, that is not helping the 86 as you are making the contact patch bigger and increasing grip, even with Prius tyres. Have you tried 16in wheels with 205 or even 195 section? Maybe go 6. 5in wide on the rim for the 195s.

This was not a good test, to drift the RS you need to put it drift mode, and then hold the ESC button to 5 seconds to disable the stability control, otherwise it will power straight out of the drift instead of holding it through the corner.

Maybe turn the ESC off next time you muppets. Literally so clueless, same when talking about 70% power to the back, doesn't work like that, it sends what power it needs, to the back, to hold a controlled drift. Do your research, amateurs.

That would be because you-re turning the wrong way in the Focus. 4wd drifting needs more provocation and a turn INto the apex. No 4wd car will continue to drift if you countersteer it straight away.

I hope they know that they need to turn traction control off on the ford when they switch to drift mode. Doesn't look like they did.
