my biggest opposing thought to the DB11 is the AMG GT-S. Back a long time ago, Astons had only Jags as alternatives (kinda. But now Merc's AMG is like occupying nearly the same exact spot on the market. Similar engines, albeit a lot lighter. While having active dampers, exhausts, etc. The DB11 won't be as sporty nor would it be any more comfortable. Straight up performance, the AMG will destroy it. And it'll be much cheaper (relatively. The only apeal the DB11 has over the Merc is. James Bond.

The engine must be severely restricted to have a 5. 2l TT v12 'only' produce 600bhp and 500lb ft of torque.
Sure thats not what Aston martins are about, but a bit more torque will help in pushing around 1800kg, although I'm pretty sure it weighs closer to 2 tons then Aston Martin would like to admit.

Really nice car and good and powerful noise. I just don't feel like it reaches the levels of the old DBS, the sound is good for a turbo but very monotone from low to high revs. The sound gets louder, yes, but it doesn't roar at the high revs like the old DB9 or especially DBS did

Slightly wider wheels at the rear are warranted to put down all that power and fill those rear wheel wells. Hopefully all the in cabin electronics and switch gear on the finished model are crisp and modern looking rather than repurposed legacy tech.

So, given that every new AM will get that engine from now on - will the next Vanquish be a direct competitor to the F12? Would be nice having over 700hp in a GT Aston: )

Idk if this is just me but this actually almost sounds like a Pagani Huayra, that has more traditional V12 sounds coming from the back end.

The looks are spot on, but the engine doesn't rev nor sound like the old DB9 which was the reason you bought one over say a 911 turbo

I would NEVER buy Aston Marin for the price it sells. Waste of money just my opinion. Porsche can smoke this car any day of the week

Sounds great. Not necessarily worse or nor better than the sonorous 5. 9 V12, but different. Progress is a necessary but good thing.
