Alfa Romeo Tonale: the car to FINALLY save Alfa? - 4K

The all-new Alfa Romeo Tonale has arrived. It's an Audi Q3-rivalling SUV that, in a first for the brand, will be available with plug-in hybrid power when it goes on sale in April - three years on from its concept debut. It carries over most of the show car's elegant styling, and Alfa has placed a big focus on the Tonale's interior quality, infotainment and connectivity, and promises strong performance from the plug-in hybrid version. But what's it like in the metal? Allow Nicola Hume to talk you through the Tonale's design, interior, engines and features in this first-look walkaround video

What an ugly design, it looks like a box, it lacks that beautiful curves that Alfa has. Both interior and exterior seems like a downgrade from all the current Alfa Romeo models. Infotainment looks like they just stuck the tablet there, ambient light placement looks kinda meh as well, really out of place, some more discreet ambient lightning would have looked a lot better. The backseat bench looks odd, and ventilation and USB ports seem weird plasticky and lacks some designing. That being said car is also heavy as brick and it's yet to be seen if it performs any good. Only thing that can reason this car being made and sold is if it is dirt cheap which I doubt will be the case. Such a shame i really like Alfas but this one is really questionable in my opinion. ---

If Alfa doesn't start advertising their cars on prime time television, and letting people know they have 0% financing for 48 months, they will NEVER survive in the US. Not to mention, my nearest dealer is 60 miles away. I had a Giulia Ti Sport for 4 years, loved it, no issues, but had to take a day off from work to get it serviced at the dealer when it needed it's routine maintenance done. I now own a BMW.

Its really pretty and that interior is miles better than the giulia or the stelvio. However, I can't help but feel like the power train is just a bit underwhelming. With both the giulia and the stelvio getting the 510HP twin turbo V6, I would have loved to see that engine make an appearance here considering how well it performed in the other cars. Maybe we will get it in a quadrifoglio version?

Oh God, this presenter needs to study a little bit more. The Tonale is based on the Jeep Compass and not on the Renegate. There's a huge difference between the two.
Alfa Romeo 75 ugly? Seriously?
Alfa Romeo is one of the few brands that are actually complete, the master the mechanics, the aesthetic and the transmitted passion

Yeah it looks nice, but costs too much in maintenance (normal maintenance and when it breaks down after warranty. Italians are not known to make reliable things: -. Now they are trying to make a plug in hybrid. the electrical gremlins are hungry. Don't see the point in going for an Alfa.

the only problem with Alfa's cars are german cars that over the past decades became very popular, became the main point of reference and a status symbol. Alfa makes great products but they cost as much as a german car so customers would simply prefer going with the german option.

Actually the 75 and 166 are great designs.
I'm not sold on the Tonale, it just doesn't look special enough. But then again to expect classic Alfa looks on a SUV bodystyle is asking the impossible.
The sooner the world is rid of SUVs the better imo

I'm an Alfaholic but I think it's time they called it a day, aiming at the Germans when it's the Malaysians they need to worry about

Too little too late -Alfa is amazing but couldn-t adapt and improve their quality fast enough -in addition to electrification delay
