Get 20% off Car Vertical using code Carwow: This is the all-new Audi Q3, and Mat’s got his hands on one for a full, in-depth review! There’s no denying there’s a huge amount of small SUVs available to buy in 2026, so does the new Q3 offer enough to stand out from the crowd Let’s take a closer look, starting with the design. It’s a bit of a poor start, with the front and the side angle leading the Q3 to feel fairly anonymous. The car we have here is the range-topping edition, so it comes with extra black plastic on the front bumper, as well as a more aggressive grille, but the entry-level model wouldn’t come with these options and would leave a lot to be desired. The new Audi logo appears flat and understated, but thankfully, the sleek headlights lend it a bit of presence. Along the side, this edition of the car has black side mirrors, as well as black window surrounds and roof rails, but it still looks fairly generic. Around the bac, k it’s a different story, with the cool tail light design, as well as a full length light bar, with the shaping of the rear end giving it a bit more presence. Step inside, and the Q3 has a quality cabin. There are soft-touch materials throughout, and it generally looks and feels expensive. There’s a large swooping infotainment and digital dial screen across the dash, and although it comes with a large bezel, the new infotainment system is generally easy to use. The digital dials also look crisp and sharp, although some of the customisation options aren’t the best. All-in-all, though, the Q3 certainly comes with a much better design on the interior compared to the exterior! There are a large number of engines available for the new Q3. The entry-level is a 1. 5-litre turbo petrol with 150hp, while there’s also a 2-litre turbo diesel with the same output. Both of these cars have front-wheel drive only. There are two versions of the 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo, both coming with Quattro all-wheel drive and either 204hp or 265hp. Finally, there’s a plug-in hybrid, which couples a 1. 5-litre turbo petrol with a motor & battery to produce 272hp. However, there’s one key point we haven’t addressed yet. The entry-level Q3 now costs 38, 000, and if you go for the range-topper with a couple of options added (like we have in this video, you could be spending up to 58, 000 on this small SUV! So is it worth it You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! Well, I own one. Or did. 3rd December i drove mine away. And on that day, there was a fault. It took 5 visits to recfity. Dash cams Audi-fitted; they didn't know how to fit them on the NEW Q3, so followed the previous generation. Killed the battery. Then senor faults. EVERYTHING would go down. EVERYTHING. No safety feature worked. Which (according to the garage) was normal and to be expected from a new car and new model (a representative actually told me this, and the best I could hope for was an 'update'. The issues kept happening. Over and over. It's been the worst car I've ever bought. Audi has now rejected it but is allowing me to keep it until I find a replacement car (not an Audi, which I appreciate. I genuinely do not feel like this is a high-end car at all. It feels cheap, both outside and inside.

Here's the thing Audi is gonna lose everybody whoever loved it if Volkswagen doesn't stop making Volkswagen. It's too much shared parts and shared ideas and philosophy and looks and materials. It's the very reason that Mercedes and BMW are winning and Audi is desperately trying to cling to its yesteryears making a name to stay in the fight only by losing and attaching your name to winners I love them they're my brand but I can't help but ignore some things but that I can't the cheap materials the basic designing the round would be black plastic and changing of the emblem it's all just disgusting

The whole infotainment gauge cluster looks so bad. damn. It looks like they made a quick sketch to layout the functions, and then never made any further development. And from the outside it also looks generic and like they didn't really care about it. It feels incohesive, lacks a common design language. As Matt said, without the rings you wouldn't even recognize it as an Audi. Man, i've never really been a Fan of Audi (mainly because most Audi drivers where i live are absolute pricks: D, but that really feels like a bad car for them.

It is not all in design, matrix headlights, luminated gadgets and extraordinary performance at high price, but with reduced life expectancy. Audi was very popular with second hand buyers all over Europe. Old models from 2010 are still rolling without issues of modern generation, like plastic water pump breaking too soon, transmission issues, oil usage, turbo failures, fuel door faulty actuator. and expensive maintenance. We also need more reliable, durable, easier maintainable, easier operable (buttons) and affordable cars.

The reason for removing the shifter knob from the center console is so that the driver can easily bend over to blow his boyfriend while the car drives itself. I love audi and have owned every model from C5 to C8, but these new models are so gay. C5-C8 make me feel like a boss, this new one makes me feel like I am going to the night club for my job as a gay pole dancer. Only the new A6 is sort of badass when speced correctly, but still can't get over the interior screens, insane downgrade from C8.

Let's see how durable these high-tech high-stress engines & gearboxes are in reality. I hate the move to DSG auto-boxes which are sure to fail by 100k mls and will cost more to repair than the value of the car. Then the engine fails shortly after for twice as much. Great under warranty, but after that Can't see these getting anywhere close to 250k without major issue, like my old Octavia did. Pwwww. I wouldn't buy a used one.

I've been driving Audis for the past 13 years. However recently, I just haven't found any of their cars all that appealing. The Q3 is kinda meh looking. I'm not really feeling the new A5. So long story short, I recently got a Cupra Terramar 2. 0 (265HP) which IMO looks much nicer than any Audi in that price range.

Audi and Mercedes design it seems that comes to an end in terms of evolution. Take away the logo of this Audi and it looks nothing like an Audi. Like it or not Chinese brand's are taking over all the traditional car manufacturer powerhouses. Also the cost of these car brands are way up especially in the entry models.

Especially when you know, that there’s an Audi model on chinas market built in very good quality with 700bhp for 40k! I don’t like their design at all, it has that Asian touch which is not a bad thing but I don’t see difference in buying myself a Kia rather than an Audi for half of the price.

This sounds too much like a paid to read script or more of our checkboxes you tick off, the more you get paid. The design is, it’s the german version of a hyundai kona up front with a Neta V backside. If this is considered great design, good luck to audi and matt in future

One of the most awful and hideous cars Audi has ever made. What a fall from grace. That front end is an ugly disaster and the whole profile and the rear end is a generic mess. To top it off it has a cheap, nasty, plasticky interior. And the pricehahahaha! What a joke!
reply

That car is so cheap and ugly.
It’s really naff.
It’s boring.
Those illuminated badges are the worst, saw a Vauxhall the other day, who the hell wants a massive glowing Vauxhall lighting up the back of their car at night. I’d be ashamed.

You call the left Steering Wheel Stalk practical With a manual gearbox (OK, you can't get one) you got to do everything with your left hand. And there are a lot functions on the left stalk. This Mercedes already had in the past - so not really a inovation.
reply

Come off it matt that interior is a joke compared to Audis of old, you as a car reviewer should be holding them accountable and not just sucking up to the manufacturer because you're the creative chief of a website that sells cars.
reply

What an ugly grill.
What is it with the Germans at the moment, are they in competition to design the worst front ends going
I’m looking at you BMW, but Audi is going to give you a run for your money
What a ridiculous price

reply

These cars are instantly forgettable. Like the new Ford Capri. It’s like going to a party and all the food on the table is brown so you end up eating quiche, but you hate quiche. That’s what’s happening to us.
reply

last chance. no chance, so overpriced and no longer with the quality. And the styling Used to be an Audi fan, I've owned six different models but they lost their way after 2018 in almost every direction
reply

High cost of manufacturing due to high energy prices is probably forcing manufactures to replace some materials with plastic instead, also having more features on the screen instead of physical buttons.

While watching this review suddenly popped up advert for Zeekr 7X business edition for 49. 999 in the Netherlands, more space, more luxurious, 6 sec to 100, 13min charging 10-80%. It makes you think.
reply

Love Audis but lately I would rather buy a fully loaded Kia kona for half the price, drove the previous Q3 & thought to myself this is not an audi, interior was worse than a Toyota corolla from 2010
