As much hate as they get, the only connectors on my camper that haven't corroded (or at least started corroding) are the 2 crimp and seal connectors where I had to splice some wires a friend's dog chewed underneath. Crimped, heat shrunk, and electrical taped for good measure.
I did just learn that Wago makes waterproof (IPx8) covers for their connectors too. Had to replace a 3 way connection where the factory used those blasted guillotine connectors and the trailer brake wires rotted off where they were pierced, unsurprisingly. Good, waterproof, 3 way connectors are hard to find so I slapped a couple Wagos and some electrical tape on temporarily and then found out they actually just make gel-filled covers that clip over them and seal them water tight. We'll see how well they hold up under there, but I can't imagine them being any worse than the factory ones that barely made it a year.
Also, I remembered the 'ol pull on the wire to see if it's corroded internally trick you use so often and found the wires on one of the other wheels were corroded too. I keep finding uses for these nice tricks you're teaching us Eric.

I don’t know why people get their panties in a twist over you using butt connectors. They work just fine and the location you are working in. I think it’s about the only option you got because you’re certainly not gonna be able to do a lot of soldering in that tight spot. Using a mini torch is probably the smartest thing too since I don’t know how big your heat gun is, but mine is too big. I don’t think it would fit in that spot. I’m sure those butt connectors are watertight. They have a good your contact and there’s gonna be no issues with it so I don’t know why people get all bent out of shape, but I think it’s funny that they do

After 40 yrs. in business I just went to not answering the ringing phone to help with anger/anxiety issues (prayer too. Training my brain that I'm not losing a potential job if I don't answer is hard, but necessary. Nothing worse when trying to concentrate than that phone ringing. I start screaming let me live I call back as soon as I can. Half the time it's a telemarketer anyway. I fantasize about taking a hammer to that phone Eric wait till you're 64 your tolerance gets way better, trust me! Good show as always. 0: 03 0: 03

You're a recommendation and I am not disappointed at all. They work as you say they do. And for those out there, they haters and the people that question it. IA small package of them. I got a Masters in Computer Science. I was working on my Ph. D. Everyone in the lab knew I could fix their computer. I spent hours doing that every day. Then I got smart. Come in at nine. Attend the meetings, always held at 10. Go home and return to the lab at 4. The three other people who stayed late never interrupted each other. We all just wanted to get the job done. I finished my degree in record time. Eric is right. After five is the best time to work.

Sharing a funny from my former place of employment. A co-worker was replacing the rollover air bag sensor on a GM SUV, under the console. He checked to make sure that the BCM recognized the new sensor, it did. He removed the bolts from the sensor to read the part number, forgetting that the vehicle was running. When he flipped the sensor over, all airbags deployed. The look on his face was priceless.

the change from pvc wire insulation to a soy based formula is said to draw rodents. Trouble is, that it doesn't readily digest and the rodent will probably croak.

Eric, did you happen to check the air filter box and or the cabin filter assembly as to where that mouse might be doing its snoozing I bet you will find that rodent / varmint in one of those two places! You should be like a Ron Porpeel chicken with a trap Set it and then forget it!

I keep thinking about getting a roll of that anti-rodent tape to prevent critters from having another snack on the same wires. Then I look at the price of that tape and wonder if there is a less expensive option. Does anybody know of anything that rodents hate, that doesn't cost much, and that can be sprayed onto wires to keep them away

Hey Eric what I know you use an Autel scan tool. What model is it does it have scope functions. I'm the used car tech at the dealer I work. I have a Snapon Apollo d8 and it seems to be lacking in more and more functions on newer cars. Have you found that your Autel won't do certain functions for some cars or brands

FWIW Just talked to an upholstery shop after having a rat problem in my truck. he told me a story of a woman who brought her car in because her dog destroy the interior. turns out she had a mouse problem and left the dog alone in the car and it went crazy looking for the mouse. the insurance wrote off the car!

Yes, the biggest problem with what we do is the FN eyeballs! I have like 6 pairs if different reading glasses in my work pouch. All have different color of tape. Red = 3. 5mag, blue = 2. 5 Etc.
You get where I am going Trust me, you need the eyes bro! #1. Great video once again, keep em coming PLEASE

I used to be a only solder connection works but after trying the ones that you show I started using them, then I found these new ones that all you do is stick the wires in the ends and apply heat. It soldier's the connection and seals it at the same time. What is your vote on these connectors

I live in Florida, and when we didn't have a locker while driving through the sand, we use to pull an the e-brake a bit to trick the open dif so that both rear tires would spin. So essentially locking the dif so you would have 3 wheel drive instead of two wheel drive with two open diffs.

My old mechanic always had many cars parked outside his shop. His shop was not fancy, not even a paved parking lot just dirt and some gravel surrounded by woods. I remember he had many outside cats that he said he had fixed so they could not reproduce. NO MICE PROBLEM.

Year and a half later, needed same seals. $10. 70 EACH. Those IMPORTANT PEOPLE
over at Chrysler looking over part prices and saying, THAT'S TO CHEAP. MULTIPLY IT BY xx. CROOKS.

You twisted the wire counter clockwise when putting on the cheapo connector, which could confuse the angry pixies and result in the planets being out of alignment. Yeah, I know. Now you're gonna do it every time. Great vid as always Mr O. I look forward to every one. Thanks.

had one of those little peckerheads get into the glovebox of my daily driver, ate my registration. car was parked for maybe a week. best advice, park it in the open with short or no grass, that way the owls will pick em off when they run the gauntlet.
