Oh you know my love for aftermarket stuff! Let's put that to the side and come along as Eric O. installs some AFTERMARKET LED Light strips in the trunk of his Honda Civic so he can see the junk in his trunk!

Scotch 33 tape. We like it. But here is a useless fact you will never need to know: it contains antimony. Don't know what it does - maybe it contributes to its opaqueness or maybe it acts like a fire retardant (antimony is used in some cables exactly for that purpose) but if you're in the radiation buisness you need to know that antimony is strongly activated by neutrons. Radiation detectors wrapped in 33 will continue to show signal long after the radiation is gone cuz the antimony used in the tape easily becomes radioactive. Our lab had to purchase special 2-wide antimony-free tape to wrap our scintillating detectors in (the second time) so that we could get a true reading of the residual radiation in the areas being monitored.

Truly a better idea than those 194 peanut bulbs. The torsion bars did need kicked up a notch for sure as those trunk lids won't stay up unless the vehicle is on level ground. Maybe put the LED's under the package tray by the rear speakers as all of the light would concentrate near the junk in the trunk vs up above the junk. Great find too. It's hard to find quality LED's. There's two top brands. one is CREE and they have a true 3000 color spectrum for neutral white light while many other brands offer 5000 or higher which cast a blueish tint.

Good placement for the initial set of LEDs. Secondary emplacement would be under the forward deck, bit that would involve additional wiring. Important that any lighting not shine in the user's face. On my Miata, I simply replaced the OEM bulb with an LED element--Plug-and-Play, but more expensive. Simpler, though. These OEM trunk-lid-mounted bulbs take a beating, because slamming the trunk lid shut jars the filament of the OEM bulb, breaking it prematurely.

There is no other electrical tape than Scotch Super 33+. This is a universal fact. Unsure why others exist, aside from color coding wires.
Also, Scotch Super 33+ tape adds 4. 361 HP per use (On Japanese cars only; 2. 183 on Domestics. This has been documented and can be proven mathematically.

I did this a few months back in my Accord based on this video. Next thing I knew I was installing an non color matched body kit using wood screws. Then I installed a fart can, and a giant oversized wing. Eric O really changed my life hahaha.

I did something similar to my MKV VW, the LED strips now come in bright white and look better. They also come with an adapter so that you can just pop them in where you normally would put the light bulb. Good video though. Thanks!

I would be interested to know if they make a led strip that can withstand engine comportment heat? That would be a sweet upgrade. Have it on the inside of the hood, flip a switch and bam all the light you need.

I've bought these LEDs in reels off of Amazon and never had any that didn't work. Ive also never had any luck with the included adhesive, so I used my own. Love 'em!

What kind of NOOB puts the lights INSIDE THE TRUNK? Everyone knows the only way to get the R, GT, SS, and SRS tags is to put the lights UNDER your car! ;)

Would have been easier to just get a higher powered LED bulb for the stock location, mine is 1000 lumens, so it says but man is it bright
