Horsepower is not always everything if you race on the track to pores will always be better Anna the daily driven anyone that owns supercars will tell you that the Porsche more ideal there's a guy in town that has a 306 it's about a year old and it's blue and you put a special exhaust on it he traded it in for his Huracan and he thinks he's got the fastest car around and I called him at a light one day in his car is fast but my stage 2 will my double pulley and my S4 destroyed them not saying my car is the fastest but it's lighter it's quicker the shifts are more responsive on all-wheel drive and no one has a better all-wheel drive system then Volkswagen in German the premium plus S4 comes with a stock intake box and you have the option if you want to hop out of the turbo and still get supercharged and that's what I did and I have a stock intake box so it performs in the air sucks and quicker specially with the performance filter and run in 10W-40 Royal Purple oil more horsepower in a car is cooler 640 horsepower and I haven't had anything really beat me yet and my friend has the brand new black horse Mustang I rip him apart just goes to show you they put all this money into this Corvette but when it comes to reliability and in the track it's not the best and to pay that kind of money for it Corvette fan I like Corvettes I have my father's old Corvette they're still beautiful cars and I still like them but don't try to compare it to a Supercar cuz in the end they're going to lose in the handling the breaking and long distance and he ain't going to be able to take the punishment if they went on a car rally doing doing 150 mph constantly for miles they're always breaking down but they are a beautiful car

That was a total beatdown by the GT3. Several factors: most likely the Z06 was not in the correct PTM modes for launches and Matt was manually shifting in the roll races (first race in 3rd gear low RPMs. The GT3 should win the brake test as it is significantly lighter. I have a highly tuned 2017 911 Carrera 4S and a 2024 Z06 and the Z06 is an absolute monster. It really looks like the American Z06 makes significantly more power based on your races and frankly for the cost to import it, there is no reason I would get a Z06 over a GT3 in Europe. I paid $15, 000 under MSRP for my Z06 in the states. GT3 was $100, 000 USD more expensive here when I was looking.

The problem with the Z06 is that it's very long geared for 4th and 5th. The car literally hits top speed in 5th, leaving out 6th, 7th and 8th gears all for highway economy gears. A Z06 may have an engine rated for nearly 150hp more, but that's peak hp. What makes a car accelerate faster is the AVERAGE power. and the Z06 spends too much time at the 6-7k rpm, when its peak power is at 8400rpm. This is why at higher speeds, the GT3 almost seems faster. In fact, it is indeed faster than the Z06 on the back straight of the Nurburgring, both in acceleration and in top speed

If we had a breakdown of all the times we could see what was faster ultimately without mistakes the z06 was probably the faster car over all so it wins the drags. The rolling race is where it really got interesting it looked like second gear the Z06 pulls all day on the Porsche but for some reason In 3rd you can’t catch up. Braking lighter car wins so that’s going to happen all day.

OK I was wondering why you matched up a GT3 with Z06. I hadn't realized the Euro spec Corvette had a bit less power. mind you it's still massive at over 640hp.
I'm curious what the 992. 2 GTS will do in RWD and AWD forms against the competition - does the hybrid drivetrain overcome the added weight to prevail over the 992. 2 GT3 in a drag race

American here. our cars are ugly and bloated. You can tell by looking at the Z06 that GM was thinking how do we make it look beautiful like a Ferrari and, well, they absolutely failed. I'm constantly amazed at what Porsche can do with a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder. With that being said, the Z06 did win the drag race.

The way Yanni looks over at Matt during the brake test always makes me laugh. The 911 has much shorter gearing and that seemed to help it in the rolling races. The Vette is now entering 5th at 140mph at the 1/2mile mark while the 911 is either at the end of 5th or now entering 6th gear. Awesome comparison

My brother bought a ZR1 after he finished his orthopedic residency. Had always been a car freak, could take apart and put back together. Had a used Camaro RS in college. We used to go street racing in Tampa, when he came home from college. He said he LOVED blowing the doors off of PORCHES!

That Corvette was struggling! Sure, it pulled off the drag race win, and I do love CorvettesI even came close to buying one a couple weeks ago. But I’m going with a 911 instead. It’s simply the better car and a much smarter financial move. Corvettes tank in value911s barely budge.

I have the same car as Mat.
Chevy blue. Larger turbos and built exhaust. With slicks I’ve run 10. 2 in the quarter. Yeah it’s insanely expensive. But I’m single with no kids so I can afford it. It’s a beast. Very dependable. In 8 months I’ve put over 10k on it.

Just bought a set of Japan Racing JR11 for my dark grey Audi A3, and was in doubt if I should go for the Hyper Black or the bronze, but after watching this and seeing that gorgeous Porche I actually realized how good of a choice I made!

Wow the euro spec corvette is much worse than the usa spec. Significantly more expensive and slower and more muffled exhaust. In America it makes a lot more sense to have a z06 but over there just get the Porsche it seems

Porsches definitely under state their hp output stats. The base PANAMERA has stated 330hp, weighs over 4, 000 pounds, and yet still does 0-60 in 4. 4 seconds and 1/4mi in low 13’s. That’s 400hp class numbers.

The cameras plastered all over the beautiful whips truly wreck the aesthetics of the cars.
There has to be a better way.
Perhaps do the stills prior to plastering cams all over the rides.

It's awesome to watch. Porsche n Corvette learning from their rivals. Corvette gave better launch. Porsche gave better mid power. Both know what they lacked and develop it for their cars. Nice.

The noise was such a shame, the two best sounding cars I've ever heard were Corvette's. One a race version at a track and the other day in a car park resonating through the floor.

What the hell. why does the Z06 have the wrong exhaust Z06s have the centerline 4 exit exhaust, while the non Z06s have the side exhaust.
Did they build the import to Europe wrong

Been asking this for years. But can we get MPH strap speed with the 1/4 mile time ET depending on a lot of things but MPH shows who is actually pulling harder at the end
