Not really any surprises there. A purpose built off road racing machine vs an on road race car. I like both vehicles but for different reasons. It's a case of horses for courses. The bowler has full time 4WD. It's built for rallying. Like most off road racing machines. They're quick off the line. But top out quick too. The mustang being only rear wheel drive struggles for grip accelerating. But once it's moving it dose have a higher top speed.

Better tires for drag racing on the Mustang would likely overcome the all wheel drive advantage for the custom Bowler, also a custom tune for the Mustang electronics to focus on power instead of fuel mileage and reliability. See the Project Farm videos for maintenance tests.

Perhaps try the drag race again with a Mustang fitted with a Roush supercharger to even it up a little, still cheaper than the Land Rover
