In my opinion -tug-of-war has nothing to do with anything about the vehicles involved in it! Traction between the tires and the ground are what a tug of war is all about. it is all about. Take the two vehicles, equip them with the SAME TIRES (brand, size, compound) have them hooked to a Tow sled (like in all state & County fairs) Only pull the sleds on asphalt. Not against each other -as whomever moves first has an advantage. The sled should be the same weight for each truck (so the trucks would be required to be equipped so there rating is the same. Basically, take out as many variables as possible. It's cute to watch but MEANINGLESS. OR! do what an owner might actually do tow the same object the same distance (50 miles or more) up and down hills etc. You could time it, measure fuel economy for the distance, etc, etc. Something useful! How about something simply can you find an object that will fit in these truck) 4 ft. boxes that weighs what the payload rating is? Most of the four door monsters will not even hold a kids bicycle!

Those Raptors are a pile of crap. That Raptor was not stock with twin turbos vs the Silverado is horseshit. Stock vs stock the Chevy would win everytime. You have to replace the timing gears in the Raptor at 80 thousand miles, ridiculously unreliable! 3. 5 liter Eco-Douche. Would rather have a Silverado than a Ford any day of the week. As for the Cummins, Yes it would win against a Chevrolet gasoline V8 (not exactly fair) US military uses Duramax in many of their trucks, humvees, MRAPS etc. which is Chevrolet's Diesel engine. That would have been a fair and more interesting match up, in my opinion.

You better stick to drag racing in a straight line, on pavement. Because you clearly don't know how to do a tug of war with a 4wd pickup. I figured the Chevy would lose to the Ford, Because the power can be spooled up faster with the turbos, but you don't start in 4wd high, you have a selection switch to put it in LOW, not L2, second, you don't ease into a pull, then stop, then start, then stop! With a snap strap, you want to get momentive on your side, no stoppage once you start. I guess you never pulled anyone out of a ditch in the winter before.

I never understood why folks use this as a means to show the pulling power of these trucks. I've watched a duramax dually give a semi a run for its money when strapped up like this. Put 8k lbs or more behind em and then see what they can do. Just my opinion

I'll never understand why people do these -tests. - any of these vehicles have the capability to spin their tires. So then it just comes down to tire tread, weight and height. No actual good quality about the longevity, durability, or power of the truck

Only problem with Ram is the garbage transmissions they put in these things. This puts a weak link into their chain. I mean at least some time in the future they plan on replacing it with something better

What-s funny is the diesel with all the engine hindrances, is pushing out exhaust cleaning than the air in Los Angeles - and is still a beast. Ain-t any climate change occurring because of them.

Not a fair contest because the Ram was a diesel and the other trucks were gas powered. Should have done an all diesel version of all the manufacturers that would have been fair and fun.

Here me out though what if the 5800 pound raptor had the 1000 ft pound torque and the 8500 pound Cummins had the 500 ft pound torque. I wonder which one would win than-
