As a retired master tech, I never use clamp on battery terminal ends. Spend the few extra bucks and replace the cable. The clamp ons are ok for a short term emergency fix but not long term. Corrosion builds up between the strands of the cable causing a voltage drop at the terminal. The voltage regulator senses low battery voltage so the alternator overworks and both the alternator and battery prematurely fail. A more effective way to clean the cable is to soak the Corrosion in a cup of Coke or Dr Pepper. It does a better job of cleaning between the wires. I really like the terminal block!

The battery terminal you use for the positive lead in the video on your truck where you screw the bare copper wire to the terminal are the worst terminals ever. I personally despise those types of battery terminals They're cheap but they ALWAYS give problems. The better option is to put copper or brass stud wire lugs on the two battery wires and then buy one of those stud type Heavy duty solid brass battery terminals and stack the Two wires with the lugs and bolt them onto the terminal 1000% better electrical connection. And WAY more durable and reliable.

FIX SUGGESTION. Chris Fix, i have a fix for you. You know how the accessory handle on the left side of your colum is always in the way when you get in the truck bc it points down Well, a ford ranger f150 left column accessory handle will fit as a replacement. As u know, ur truck is a ford ranger but prettier. Replace it and it will point upward. Its a very easy fix. Unscrew sterring column cover, take old one off, put new one on and done. Your knee will thank you.
Please do a video on it.
Luv ur content. Peace.

Oh man a Mazda truck, what a gem. Those are some reliable little pickups. Seen one run on 3 and 1 broken cylinders in a V4. Can't afford to repair it, but it's still used as a daily driver and still working like a charm. Not pretty, rough around the edges, but by far the most capable vehicle I'll ever have the pleasure of owning. It came into this world before me, and with the proper care and a little luck It will almost certainly still be here long after I'm gone.

I had an antigravity battery after a year it had expanded and would not start and when I contacted them they said they can only give me a percentage of the amount of the value of the battery in credit to use on their website so i couldn’t even get a reimbursement for the battery i needed to get so i could actually drive my car all this for a $500 battery that I couldn’t even get the warranty on

Here’s a trick for removing and installing a car battery I picked up a few years ago.
Think of red socks and black shoesred is positive, black is negative.
Taking the battery off
You take off your black shoes first (negative, then your red socks (positive.
Putting the battery back on
You put on your red socks first (positive, then your black shoes (negative.
Hope it helps!

A lithium battery in a vehicle with an internal combustion engine This battery here is gonna be next to millions of enclosed explosions that build heat while driving under that entire hood. I'll pass until they lithium batteries stop spontaneously igniting under typical conditions. imagine the possibilities under a hot hood in the peak of Summer. No thanks.

Yo guys I have a Saturn and a while ago it crapped out on me and wouldn’t start. I check the inside and just adjust the wire to the MAF sensor ever so slightly to be pushed in and it starts. Turns out that piece was bad and got a new throttle body and now it works perfectly. It can be many things, but be prepared for the worst you all

That is totally false you should leave the negative one on because it is grounded you take the positive off first everytime and when putting it back on negative First positive second man growing up I was taught way different than these kids nowadays kids nowadays seem to have everything backwards.

I had my yellow and green forklift struggle to start when I try trying the key and I knew the battery was dead so I had my battery jump starter or charger and selected to engine start and it fired right up but as soon as I start a couple minutes past it just would not start again
reply

Just a warning. Make sure if you use a Lithium battery it is rated for the engine bay, starting your car, and is rated to handle straight alternator power.
Some, esp older or high ah batteries need a dcdc charger in-between and not designed to handle a starter motor.

That built in jumpstart feature is genius! Probably using super capacitors to store that charge up coming from a boosting converter to take the low voltage of the battery and pump it up to a fully charged batterys voltage. All car batteries should come with this!

You should solder those positive wires together. Braided wire is great because it can carry more load on a thinner more flexible wire because it has more surface area, but unfortunately all the gaps created by the fraying ends tend to be a perfect environment for arcs
reply

There will never be a good connection with that type of battery terminal. If you are a hard DIYer invest in battery terminal crimpers and buy some decent battery terminals and ring ring terminals.
This is just waiting to burn out arc up and make no connection.

I love the cheap hand tools followed by replacing a 200 dollar battery with a 1000 dollar battery. My vehicle doesn't show up on their search, but I can't help but feel like one of their batteries would still fit/work in it.
reply

Chris! If at all possible, you should invest in an SPOD upfitter and show everyone the install. They're super helpful for people with accessories like compressors and lights, etc.
Anyways, great vid as always! See ya

My question is will the truck charge a lithium battery when it’s made for a lead acid for me I just keep using lead acid but that my opinion and if it does do well I hope it serves you well for many years to come
reply

Personally, I would have cut the frayed strands on the positive and stripped the wire back a little for a better connection.
Also, splicing means joining, which was what you said when you stripped the wire.

reply

Could you also put the positive wires in terminal end connectors It’s not easy to distinguish between those different kinds. In Germany we call it a Kabelschuh so wireshoe would be the direct translation.

Do you have a video on fixing the Hemi Tick I have a 2019 Ram Rebel 1500. They told me the exhaust manifold is leaking on the driver side and passenger side, and want to charge me $1, 800 to fix it.
