Learn how to put in sound deadening and heat reflective material into your car. In this case I was preventing a common wet carped problem due to condensation. The exhaust runs right under the floorboards and causes a lot of condensation and over time that causes the carpets to get damp. Sound deadener insulation I used

I don't think putting the insulation on the inside of the car is a good idea. There is still heat on the bottom of the floor and cool on the top side (insode.
This method will only trap the moisture under the insulation and on top of the metal floor. The carpet will never see the wetness, therefore, you won't either.
However, one day the floor will fall out from rot and you will be doing a Fred Flintstone.
Yabba dabba doooo!

He put that insulation in wrong. The shinny metal side is supposed to reflect radiant heat from the exhaust piping away from the cab. That only works if it is able to directly reflect from the exhaust on the underside of the truck. It will protect a little bit due to the fiber insulation, but its not being used to full potential.

Hi Chris!
Love your videos, I've learned so much! Just wondering, how good is this stuff for drowning out engine noise? I have a classic London taxi here in Australia and the noise from the engine to me is really loud, so loud that's often difficult to hear people talking in the passenger compartment. Would this stuff work?

1: 00: This explanation doesn't make sense to me. You get condensation where warm, moist air meets a cool surface. A heat source would help evaporate moisture, not condense it.

That would protect the carpet but not the floor board it seems to me. Wouldn't condensation still happen under the insulation and possibly rust out anyway?

That seems like a really dumb design by mazada, I guess it is what it is though. I hate when we have to do upgrades should've been done in the factory

My car gets extremely hot inside during the summer. Would doing this under my carpet help reduce the heat coming in from outside?

I seriously am dealing with the same issue on my b3000. Thankful for this video. This entire time, I thought I had a leak.
