'07 Mazda6 200k miles and I'm getting a popping noise when I steer, especially at driveway maneuvers/low speeds (feel it in the steering wheel. It's not rhythmic/keeping pace with the wheels turning as if the CV joints were bad. The sound was happening before and after I replaced the front CAs (all except the lower rearwards, shocks, outer tie rod ends, and tires followed by alignment. I pushed in and out on the inner tie rod ends; they did not clunk. I'm puzzled and wondering if something's wrong with the rack. I do think I might have a front wheel bearing going bad because after the new tires, I'm still hearing a slight wump-wump sound at lower speeds up to 35 mph before it goes away. Oh well, I don't really expect a response. this just helps me reason through what might be wrong.

Great. 1. I do not have a lift or jack like yours. I also don't have a second car to run and get parts. 2. However, I have the ball joints lubricated every time I have an oil change. 3. I just had the tires, rotated and balanced, two new tires put on, and an alignment. With some little play remaining in the steering wheel, I will inspect the tie rods and the steering box contents next month when an oil change is done on a lift. A new ball joint or tie rod can be delivered to my mechanic in a matter of minutes.

Here's a problem for you that no one's been able to figure out.
When I can make a turn at low speed it makes a rubbing noise it sounds like the tires rubbing against the wheel well or something but it's not.
Tie rod sway bar sway arm bushings the links have all been replaced the sound is steel there.
Any suggestions?

It was like rattling noise, changed tie road end. Now ok.
But for this reason these garrage people changed front shocks & link rod. So that's where lies the importance of videos like this. Thumps up brother

Hi Chris love your videos and clear information without all the palaces. My question is should I have a go at replacing the air conditioning compressor on my 2015 Mazda BT 50 MY13, or should I leave it to the professionals.
