Headlight Restoration using Clear Coat. This video will show you how to clean and restore your headlights so they will never turn yellow or hazy again! You have seen videos on restoring headlights with bug spray, toothpaste, baking soda, and the kits you buy in the store, but all of these methods are temporary and eventually the haze and oxidation will come back. My method will first make the headlight clear by wet sanding and then put a UV coat on it to seal it in. Headlight Clarity Updates

This is one of the more thorough videos on headlight restoration. Headlight Coating. You can find it at Walmart or online for about 8, 00. Clear coat paint is a paint and can crack after a while according to body shops I talked to. Perhaps the was that Chrisfix applied will prevent this. Nevertheless, the Meguire's product I used dried crystal clear. Thanks Chrisfix.

Hi Chris, I have a 1991 Ford Ranger 2. 9 litre. I broke a spark plug while attempting to remove it. This one was right below the Power Steering Pump so it was difficult to get at. It was so rusted out that I don't think that had ever been removed. Any info on fixing this or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey! Is it worth going through this, or can I get away with some headlight vinyl wrap film after getting it to be clear using the sandpaper and some polish? What are the differences between using wrap and actually applying clear coat? I'd like to do my headlights over the summer and am trying to make a plan.

It seems like that I can't source neither of the two clear coats mentioned in the description in Australia. They are either unavailable or nobody ship them to Australia due to some postage restrictions. Do you know of any other products that I can find here in Australia! I would appreciate it your response.

I tried this step by spep and applied 3 layers and for some reason after drying the clear coat starter forming cracks. The cracks look like dried up mud.
It might be because I applied too much on the last layer.
Please help what should I do?

I wish i could post a before and after here. I messed up a bit with the clear and it ran, but no worries, let it dry and harden then wet sanded and buffed with Meguiars Ultimate compound and then wax. I am myself amazed with the results. Thanks Chris

ChrisFix is very reliable. however on this topic and this one only I disagree with. just go get Mother Mag& Aluminum polish at Walmart and watch one of the videos on youtube. NO SANDING and you get just as good results. Just did my head lights.

If I don't remotely care about the paint on my vehicle can I skip the bag and the tape? the clear coat has come off the roof of the van I just bought and as much as people have told me how to fix it, I'll probably just have the vehicle repainted.

I recommend getting a new car of if you purchased new headlights or even if you cleaned them take them off either tent them or put clear film on them to keep them nice forever. Its on eBay its like 11. 00

Nice. I've got a 200 S70 Volvo & 1 headlight is bright & 1 is kind of dim. I bought 2 replacement bulbs & got the same results. 1 bright & 1 not so bright. Can't wait to try this. Thanks in advance.
