For normal daily drivers the rebody of the Mazda Escort was the best value over the long haul. It held up really well and was way easier to fix and maintain. I had the Mazda Protege but the replacement CV joint had a Ford logo. After hitting a deer replaced the headlights from an Escort. You just flip them upside down/ right and left and they fit either. My first new-ish car purchase.

This is my dream car since i was 2 years old i beliveI grow up in side on one of this and specifically it was the mk7 model that started producing at 1986 and stopped at 2000And my grandfather just treat it was a monster truck or something it had rust all around in every single panel he also had it to go on a offroad to feed the chickens etc. I hope one day i can find one of these and restore it.

During mid 90s till early 2000 Escort was made in India by Ford India limited and it was one the most desirable car alongside Mitsubishi Lancer which was also built in India during the same period. Unfortunately Escort stopped production and Ford replaced it's best selling car with Ikon sedan which was based on previous generation Fiesta platform. Sad but true.

Meanwhile in Brazil we only ever got FF Escorts, with the strongest one being the last model with 115HP with a 16 valve 1. 8L Zetec Engine, and for a few years we got Escorts with Volkswagen engines because of a merge Ford and VW did in South America in the 90's.

The zetec engine is actually a really enjoyable engine. My first car was a 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 with a manual transmission. It was slow but the car felt really planted on the road and the WHOPPING 130hp was more than enough to have a great time.

Ford needed the escort wrc because subaru was mopping up with the legacy with colin they needed a smaller chassie with the cosworth power plant, hence why you have subarus sti and Lancers evo all to do with rallying

Whenever I watch one of these up to speeds I just James to talk about whatever car/truck I wanna get at the moment. However I doubt the Nissan Frontier is going to deliver much history for James to go over.

I have to use an escort rs turbo from the 80's in horizon 4 in place of the ae86 because for some reason toyota only wants three of their off road vehicles in horizon 4
