Most racing series are very specific about forced induction (FI) and AWD thanks to cars like the Audi Quattro in the US, stomping Trans-Am and almost killing the series, and the Nissan GT-R doing much of the same in Australia. Showing up in racing series that at the least had gentleman's agreements to use specific formats of vehicle and then these guys show up and disregard that, getting booted out of the series and/or doing serious harm to that racing series. To this day, there are few on-road racing series where AWD is allowed. Rally racing, as seen and known in Europe, infrequently has racing on paved roads otherwise only sections are on paved roads. It is really the fault of racing series owners not to either lock out AWD and/or FI at the start or to directly allow them so other teams can step up without betraying their colleague and rivals or defying the gentleman's agreement. Since production car technology tends to reflect racing technology, actually directly making AWD and FI legal would have changed a LOT in every market in the world. And this is back in the 1980s to 90s.

Hey Pumphrey, to say that cars from the late 60s could not handle very well, would be incorrect. Why not Google why the Z28 was built. I'll tell you to compete against Ford in the scca Trans-Am series. Look it up. Anyone that says muscle cars can't handle, needs to do their homework / research. It just depends on which car, not all cars. They need to get the facts straight. With the resources we have nowadays there's no reason to be ignorant.

1968 Trans-Am racing. All those muscle cars would kick the shit out of the puny 1969 GT-R (buff ) 160hp. And they would kick the shit out of them on a road coarseMuscle cars do handle well. And they were easily making triple the horse power. You need to learn real car history

Congrats on the milestone. I just recently started becoming a car guy and you guys have helped fan the flames. You manage to make great and informative content but keep it entertaining and simple to follow for someone like me who knows like nothing about cars.
