Here in the Philippines Toyotas are famous for their durability. Been driving the Innova Diesel for more than 5 yrs now and still runs like its new. Its our bread and butter used for Grab. I admit i did abuse the car but the Innova handles the abuse very well. Did not give us any headaches, just those normal wear and tear like tires, battery, brake pads etc. Damn proud of these toyotas and they are worth every cent you pay for.

Dear Scotty Kilmer, I have a 1971 Citroen ID19. Before placing it in storage for the winter it had started to make a loud grinding noise. It kinda smoothens out over 3. 5k revs but continuous. I dont believe its the hydraulic mechanisms. Also plumes of smelly thick smoke is coming from the exhaust. Carbon build-up? Do you have any thoughts on what it could be? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I had 1 in Vietnam, gasoline engine. Got about 80. 000 miles out of it before I sold it. Toyota makes great engines, transmission, many other parts, quite solid except that its body and frame are too soft in Vietnamese version. Getting involved in an accident with cars that have better body/frame such as Ford, Mitsu often put drivers and passengers inside these Innova into serious injuries.

I also have a toyota fortuner 2006 with a gasoline 2. 7 L engine with almost 200k kilometer, with little parts broken, owned it from brand new, only the radiator, AC compressor and altenator changed because of age. Still runs very good, using 95+ octane fuel from new. Never have any problems this far, and it is imported from Thailand to my country indonesia. Best car for my preference

Ah. innova. Greetings from indonesia. Here we also had this(2005-2015) model. prtety much only facelift. Here, 2kd diesel engine so very popular. so strong yet so efficient. when modified can push up to 300++hp/1000nmAlso auto trans is ALOT stronger than manual ones (same internal as 2jz auto)and 2016 we got the 2nd gen (2gd engine) which better engine and had more potential than 2kd

The oil leak problem around the engine and the injectors can be solved by replacing the rubber seal on the upper part of the engine. Im not sure if it is the head gasket but Im pretty sure it has other term for it. I know what a head gasket looks like and the one replaced in my car was a rubber seal. Ive replaced that rubber seal after 110, 000 harsh and hard kilometers.

Hey the toyota innova and those fortuners are reliable my innova has 150k miles and it runs normal even tho its a mpv for our fellow filipino it was a spacious mpv that can fit your budget here in the philippines but if you want more bigger go get the fortuner/sw4 it is based on a hilux/sr5 chassis and has an ability to go offroads

His reference to 100, 000 miles usage is a little confusing, as Philippines like the rest of the world is metric-measure, but he may be converting 160, 000 km. and saying 100, 000 mi. which is about what it would convert. Not SURE WHAT makes Toyotas BREAK in the Philippines - - but Im interested to know, because I live here
