Here\'s Why New Nissans are Crap clark: Hey Scotty - enjoy your videos very much, but had to respond to this one.
I've been a Nissan guy since 1977. I started with a 1977 280Z, 5 speed. I've also had Sentra's, Stanza's and Infiniti G20's. My parents have had a pick-up, a Stanza, a Maxima, a Sentra and Rogues. My sister is on her second Rogue and my son is is on his second Sentra, a 2019 with a 5 speed. His wife just sold her Rogue because with a second child it isn't large enough to carry all the baby gear, with 2 little kids.
Back to your video - my Rogue is a silver 2017, not unlike your example. I generally agree with your comments concerning the CVT, but if you don't drive like a maniac it's OK. Oh yeah, be smart and change the oil and filters on time and don't hold on to them over 100K miles. I guess you can say that about any modern car, however.
All my Nissan's were manual transmission cars with the exception of one of the G20's, a 1996 4 speed auto that my wife drove, and my Rogue. My longest ownership was the 1994 Infiniti G20 5 speed, 10 model years and 320K miles! In New York State the salt ate it up, but the engine and transmission held up.
Moral of the story - have a manual transmission car. Are you listening Nissan? Toyota, Honda? Yeah, had a 2000 Honda Accord with a 5 speed, put nearly 200K miles on that.
Final comment - why do all your customers have such dirty, cluttered interiors? I was taught to keep your car clean so the mechanic will respect you, because you respect your car.
Good luck with your move.

My mother's 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R started using oil after just 99K miles. She stayed on top of the oil changes and every other maintenance item needed. She took it in for a tune up and that's when the mechanic she's been going to for years said that the engine was low on oil. Topped it off after the tune up, and checked it a week later and it was almost halfway low. Wasn't leaking, no visible blue smoke coming out from the exhaust. She was disappointed because she really loved that car. 6 speed manual, fun to drive, great gas mileage. It was even the same color and had the same rims as the one shown in the beginning of the video, lol. It got traded for a Scion and she's still driving it to this day. 260K miles on the original powertrain.

Any car of truck can become crap if not taken care of.
We handed our 2005 Nissan Xterra to our 17 year old son after we put 178k miles on it, original engine and transmission, runs like a champ, the only repair job we had to do was replace the rear ujoints, I replaced the brakes my self, he has since put on about 9k miles and still no problem.
My wife drives a 2013 Nissan Murano, looks and drives like a new SUV, one thing I made sure with this SUV is to change the transmission fluid yearly, costs me about 100, a lot cheaper than a new CVT, which is what will break down if not taken care of.

53, 000 some miles that nissan rogue never done nothing but oil change and the brakes SMH no wonder people blame nissan when there CVT transmission goes out. 53, 000 some Miles and not once at 30, 000 miles has that owner OR SCOTTY HIMSELF RECOMMENDED TO GET A TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGE! Nissan CVT has good transmission is mehanics like scotty and owners of that nissan rogue who don't know how to maintain these cvts you need clean transmission oil on those cvts they delicate all you need to do is change cvt oil frequently. ! At 30, 000 miles or less and your cvt lives longer.

I drive a 2001 Nissan Frontier 3. 3L V6 and the only major problem I ever had with it was the power steering pump. However, it was an original part and when I had to get it replaced, the truck had 178, 000 miles on it.
SOME Nissans are crap. For example, I personally think the Juke is a hunk of junk. I had a friend who owned one and it had all kinds of problems and never ran right. It barely had over 100, 000 miles and every time she got it fixed, something else would break. No offense to Juke owners!

My local autoplex has Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, and Ford. My next door neighbor is the master mechanic and told me that out of all of them, currently Toyota has the most transmission problems due to their cvt in the Corolla and CH-R. Over a 3 month wait to get cvt s replaced. Cvt owners aren t changing their fluid every 30k miles and it s breaking the Toyota cvt. He said avoid the 8 speed automatic transmission in the Chevrolet and the 10 speed transmission in the Fords.

Scotty. I just got home from a trip towing a 16 ft. tilt trailer with a 2019 Toyota 4Runner. My last fuel up I had to fill up with the highest octane gas because they were out of the lower octane. It seemed to me that the 4Runner had less power running on 92 octane than it has on the 87 octane that I normally buy. Is this just my imagination? Will running a tank full of 92 octane do damage such as burning my exhaust valves?

My dad bought a 2000 Sentra brand new with the 2. 0L I4/4 speed auto. Owned it for 16 years and put over 184k miles on it until he had to scrap it due to the frame rusting (we live in NY. The engine ran fine with all its original components and 3k oil changes and the 4 speed auto never had its fluid changed and it still shifted like a dream the day we said goodbye to it. Nissan made great stuff back then.

My favorite Datsun/Nissan of all time is the 240Z. They hit a Grand Slam home run on that one.
The bad thing about these is that a lot of them are bought by kids that put fart cans, carbon fiber wrap, GT-R stickers, and slam them to the ground. In other words they destroy them. Finding one that hasn't been corrupted isn't that easy.

2000 era Maxima. When cat goes bad, 1, 100 job. You know what you Renault.
If Nissan was smart, they would align themselves with FCU for Peugeots return to America. Ever see a Peugeot Rally car?
180 from Renault. Or is it? Formula V6 3. 5.
Look at Hill Climb Monsters and see what never is sold in the USA. Videos on utube
