The roads are closed due to the howling winds and heavy snow over the mountain pass, the trains, for us it's normal service as usual. One of the huge benefits of trains are the ability to traverse areas with horrendous winds and snow due to our weight and mass. Starting off at l I will run a freight train to the freight terminal in Bergen. The moon is right behind us and it will light up the mountain landscape on our way over. The trip traverses the mountain pass on the Bergen Line which is one of the most inhospitable environment during winter. It's cold, it's snowy and the weather can turn on you within minutes. You'll even see the stark difference from one side of the Finse tunnel to the other. Interesting points on the trip has been marked with a in the chapters section. !

That's just beautiful. Came back to watch again. Question, if the power goes out and the weather is really bad, you must have some sort of survival equipment? I'm guessing a generator to keep you warm and some supplies until another train can come and get you moving again? Do you carry a shotgun or anything in there? Really seems far out into the wilderness. Must get freeeeeezing in the depths of winter.

Hello, thank you for publishing this movie, it has a mega-atmosphere I associate with the childhood movie POLAR EXPRESS it is amazing to drive at night when it is snowing Greetings in our group of truck drivers it is wide and I do not know how among the drivers, maybe just a quiet service. Regards

A great video, a pleasure to watch and appreciate. I also wonder what the engineers thought when they were handed a set of plans and were told to go and build that line! I suppose the good news is that it doesn't snow under a mountain just drips icy water down your neck the whole time. Respect.

Loved that secret room video. What was that place? It looks almost like they were building a new section of track tunneling through the rock; that's what that piece of machinery looked like it was designed to do, but I'm not sure. Very interesting.

So, where is the heavy snow and howling winds? Seems like endless miles of tunnels and snowsheds to me. Interrupted by a couple of small drifts that barely covered the rail. No need for handing your coffee off on this trip.

All I can say is thanks for the virtual train ride and beautiful scenery. As for the weather, I have plenty of experience driving through this kind of weather. Not by train but by car and truck for I live in Canada.

Deutsche Bahn would never be able to run on that much snow, they break down once the first flake hits the ground. Please teach them how to properly run during winter
