Over thirty years ago I started building this model railway. During that time it suffered two major setbacks, moving house and the foam underlay turning to dust. The layout had recently remained unused for six years due to the problem with the underlay, which caused the track to drop; the fixing pins consequently fouled the underside of the trains resulting in frequent derailments. Not a problem where the lines were in the open, but a different matter when it came to tunnels. A year or so ago I started experimenting with ways to put things right, but I still wanted to retain the 3D effect that comes with raising the track on underlay. The layout is not quite finished, giving me the opportunity to make follow on videos about scenery and accessories that simply were not available when I started. I will also cover how I repaired the track and take a look at new locomotives, rolling stack and items of scenery as they arrive

I spent some time trying to determine if the layout was O or HO, then at at 5: 39 utility knife came into view! I think it is HO. Very nice layout and the depth it has is astounding. The scenery and buildings are really well done and the vegetation is just right.

Hi Tim I really enjoyed your video of your quite superb model railway. Do you run your model on a timetable and the goods trains to serve the surrounding towns and villages? What is the squeaking that you can hear from time to time. Thanks for sharing.

There is so much action on your model railway! Almost continuous sound! No wonder that VW Beetle driver is confused as to what side of the road he should be driving on!

Nice model railway. I like the concentration on one theme and age. The background fits very well to the model. How do you control the trains? With a digital control?
