Nearing the end of today-s journey through Greece, we pass through pleasant agricultural scenery to Strymonas, where we exchange locomotives before heading into the hills and the border crossing into Bulgaria for an overnight stay near Kulata from where our train will continue behind a steam locomotive to Dupnitsa the following day

Dear Tim, thank you for sharing! This is what I have planned for this year in May. But the other way around. From Saloniki to Xanthi. I hope, that there will be a time to travel on this rail again. Have a good time!
