Driver's eye view - High-speed trip from Palmerston North to Napier - 5 x full speed

A camera was fixed to the front of DA Class diesel locomotive No. 1431 for the journey between Palmerston North and Napier (New Zealand) including both the Manawatu Gorge and Ormondville Viaduct. A good proportion of the video obtained was reasonable quality and has been included at actual speed in - -Manawatu Gorge - Driver and Passenger views of the raging river below- and -Deco Delights Express - Driver and passenger views - Woodville to Napier (New Zealand-). Some of the sequences left out of these two videos were very long or affected by vibration and rain drops on the camera lens, the effects of which can be dramatically reduced by increasing the speed of the video. I chose 5 times speed as it appears to be the best compromise all round allowing viewers to experience the full journey through the beautiful New Zealand countryside from a forward facing camera similar to the view enjoyed by the driver

Someone was suggesting that the Wellington to Masterton service should become a KiwiRail Scenic service. While that is also a good run, what I think they should do is have one going from Wellington to Palmerston North return, running via Masterton in both directions. Then passengers get the Manawatu Gorge too, which is the definition of untapped potential when it comes to there not being a regular scheduled passenger service through it.

I have sat through so many driver's cab train videos, because I like the vicarious travel. (Despite years of commuting on the LIRR into Manhattan. I am still debating whether the high speed version is to my liking.

Please upload videos in Normal speed. Otherwise its of no use. Keep 4 to 5 hours I will watch but 5x speed very sad.

Watched this in Leeds UK, but still have the house in Bridge Pa. Loved it even though i got a bit motion sick!
