I see Tim in the comments further down that you like the Yorkshire man James Cook. Apparently in the fifties his house was removed stone by stone and re erected in Victoria. But the locals in Cook's hometown say that Cook never lived in the house. His parents were farmers and once they were too old to work the land they moved into that house as a retirement house. One of the locals pinched a stone block and incorporated it into his front wall. So the Australians were a stone short. I do hope the tale is true about that house for I don't like to see artifacts being removed from one country just to be re erected in another.
I've now been to the UK three times and last time I flew BA premium economy both ways. I got a lot of sleep on the outward bound journey which is necessary when one has to cope with London's peak hours traffic when they land. On the return it wasn't so vital to sleep as I had an airport transfer bus to my front door.
When you lifted off out over Botany Bay the aircraft banked to port briefly showing the Kurnell Oil Refinery but now a depot for fuel storage as all our fuel is refined in Singapore and comes to us in huge tankers.
I like the sign on the port wing that reads -Do not walk outside this area-. Were they expecting -wing walkers- during the flight Tim. Perhaps it's done specifically for the Mc Cartney's who are so high most of the time that they don't know whether they're inside or outside of the plane

Great video! air travel is very common now a days, but one feels the excitement, fear & uncertainty while leaving & touching the ground. Isn't it Tim? and once in the air, all petty, small things are left behind, (for a while, -. It's blue skies & water with very little land mass in the southern hemisphere. Enjoyed the vitual experience. Thank you for sharing.

I read the airport is building a new control tower.
I couldn't quite believe it seeing in your video the current control up a hill in a residential area outside the airport perimeter!

Well, that's the best way to get -across the ditch- between Sydney Australia and Wellington NZ. The alternative method would result in a pair of very sore arms! LOL
