Sargan Eight Railway - Driver's Eye View at 5 x Speed

Hi, this video gives an idea of the task that faced the men who built this incredible railway through very difficult mountainous terrain. I am well aware that not everyone likes these high-speed driver-s eye views, but posting at regular speed was not an option owing to the engine giving the camera a hard time. The crew kindly allowed me to fix a camera to the locomotive and I have sped the resulting film up to reduce the jello effect caused by vibration. The name -argan Eight is derived from a local village and the figure -8- route the line follows when viewed from above. I personally enjoyed watching a bunch of over excited rail enthusiasts jostling to get that all important shot, not forgetting that I am one of them! Please join me for this trip behind class 83 steam locomotive No. 83-052 for a ride over this beautiful line as it preforms numerous run pasts for the benefit of the tour participants

Everything was possible after Semmering. With support of military, Austrian and other railway workers were able to plan and implement optimal solutions, such as Sargan Eight Railway. As side effect, this railroad is located in a beautiful Balkan scenery enthusing railway fans from all over the world. - Heinz
