Driver's Eye View - Ple-ivec to Mur-- - (Slovakia)

Our fascinating railway adventure through Southern Slovakia from Tisovec to Kosice including little used branch lines, continues with a trip from Ple-ivec to Mur. Freight originates at number of industrial sidings along the route although the final leg to Mur looked as though it had not seen a train for many months. The line passes through pretty countryside with mountains beckoning on the horizon for much of the final leg of the journey. Ride in the cab to enjoy the views normally only available to the driver

Great video thanks tim, Slovakia was once part of the czech republic, Love the sound of that big diesel engine, Have dogs got 9 lives? If so that dog used up 8 of them, I once owned a dog that could outrun that train[greyhound], When you come to brisbane ride the sky train brisbane airport to the gold coast 1hr 20 min about 60 or 70 kms 3ft 6in gauge, Weather hot and humid in jan and most days a big afternoon thunder storm, Thanks mate cheers bob.

Something I love about these Slovak trips is, it doesn't matter how moribund any station or depot might appear to be, so long as it's at least nominally active there's always -someone- working for the railway and dressed for the part visibly in attendance. Usually in hi-vis, often with a station-masterly peaked cap. Even when the train doesn't stop, they often appear to be standing to attention as the train passes. Not like here in the UK -

Wow, I used to take a train from Muran to Revuca with my mother back when I was a kid, and also had a trip to Plesivec with grandparents. But that was such a long time ago, I think last public train on that direction went like 10 years ago. They used to be small motorized trains with two vagons. Good times.

Beautiful.
If you can than go 4k: GoPro camera version 8 or higher is affordable. Include a capable memory card that will follow the camera and be able to record 4k.
Than video will get on quality and will last longer - like 10 or more years.
Stay well, drive safe.

Great Videos. Just an idea or suggestion, Please could you put a number with each video in the order they where filmed, as it will make it easy to not select ones we have already watched, as the Slovakian place names can be confusing.

Hey Tim. Thanks for the video. Lovely landscapes. What happened to the dog by the way? Did he make it or was he run over by the train? Hope he made it ok.

Cute views. After the condition of the rail heads I get the impression that this line is very rarely used. How often do trains on this route run?
