St Veit an der Glan to Klagenfurt Driver's Eye View Vintage EMU

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1

This was a day that offered something to suit everyone, an early morning start from Graz station was required to fit everything in, with the first train of the day taking us to Bruck an der Mur where we boarded another comfortable Railjet train to reach St. Veit an der Glan. A beautifully restored Electric multiple unit, Number 4042. 01 graced the platform waiting to take us to Klagenfurt. Nostalgic Railways in Carinthia took ownership of two high-speed railcars numbered 4042. 01 and 4042. 02 in 1996. Number 4042. 01 was refurbished for use on the main line several years ago

(22: 04) Hello Tim, vintage buses of this type also brought masses of tourists to the Austrian Alps in the 1950s. There are a number of cinema movies about because after the horrors of World War II, beautiful landscapes were the main theme at German cinema. I remember a lot of movie posters with vintage buses. Story of most movies was: a German and his famlily (called by Austrians -Piefkes-, Berlinan preferred, visits a location of Austria Alps. Of course there is a lot of funny confusion. - Heinz
