I hate this train. I live in Zug and i have to take this train always i go to zurich. Bcs iam 190cm tall i have no space. really no space, i cant sit normal at the 2 seat configuration. my knees are pressing against the seats in front of me. At the 4 seat confi its okay just if no one sits in front of me. But when i hate everyone, i dont know where to go with my legs. Just the most unconfortable train i ever had. cant imange travel more than 2h with it. When you compare it with an ICE from the DB its mindless how big the diffrent of space of comfortable seats can be at trains.

That train is the most uncomfortable in the world! I took it many years ago from Geneva to Milan and I was seated at a table like you-it was a nightmare. More than four hours with my legs squeezed between the bin and the pole. I don-t understand what they had in mind when they designed the seats that way. I was hoping that, after ten years, there would have been some improvements, but no sir! I recently travelled on the new Giruno train of the SBB from Milan to Zurich and there STILL was the same problem with the bin. It-s really a disgrace.

The tilting feature forces the carriages to be even more compact than a conventional train. Given that fact, the placement of the reading lights is dumb. This could never be acceptable in North America. I know that obesity is rarer in healthy Europe, but there must be some fat people there.
I have ridden tilting Talgo trains in Washington state, and they are even more claustrophobia inducing. However, the seats are adequately wide.

Great video on the pendolino between Milan and Zurich the train does look nice but Yh as you said the seating looks a bit cramped especially with that reading light in the way but apart from that it's good you went through gotthard tunnel which took 20 years to construct so much hard work done to ensure a through link in the deepest Swiss alps and some great scenery like lake lugano and Zug - and the mood lighting on the toilet is good

Dear surveyor, since from the border railway station (Domo d'Ossola, Chiasso etc) the Swiss international trains are not compulsory reservation and at market price, here is explained to you why they are obliged to identify the place with the appropriate ticket seats possibly booked in advance. Years ago the railway worker was given a specific prescription drawn up on the appropriate form.

While I agree that the Gothard Base Tunnel is an engineering success story, I disagree that it is a (positive) highlight.
The old rail line with its spirals and incomparable scenery was breathtaking. Unless you are a frequent commuter, it'd be like replacing the Golden Gate Bridge with an undersea tunnel.
Wonderful video!

Interesting fact btw, the mood lighting is blue in the toilets because it makes it very hard for people to find a veign to- yk-. inject bad stuff into yourself, they have this outside in some stations too. Was surprised to hear that when my friend first told me as i moved to switzerland. I just thought it looked cool: )

Yeah, don't forget the police squads boarding this train and hunting anyone who doesn't look Swiss: checking their documents, luggage, reasons for visiting, reasons for staying that long, reasons for this very trip on the train, reasons for breathing. Yeah, the Swiss LOVE foreigners, check it out yourself! Have fun.

I wanted to see the Alps scenery and instead I got a tour of the cars, Boring. Dylans Travels is better at scenery on the route from Geneva to Milan on the pendolino, Much MORE scenery. I like simply Railway but too much time on the train and not enough on the journey, which I what interests us tourist.

Oh my. Yet another modern train where just looking at the seats makes my back ache (more) and my butt feel numb! Whyyy oh whyyyyyyy are manufacturers and operators doing this to travelers! Put some softness into the seats instead of just covering the plastic with a fancy piece of fabric -
reply

Greetings from Singapore yes can't agree more Swiss trains are more for commuters than long distance routes hence hardly any place for luggage a suitcase - this should be a must for all long distance trains and those that connect major airports like Zurich Geneva

It's amazing to see US trains criticized. This European train couldn't be more uncomfortable. Narrow, hard seats with no leg room. The exact opposite of what one always finds on US trains, i. e. comfortable cushioned seats with lots of legroom.

Just the same way I saw testimony of how Austin helped a man make -$50, 000 weekly Profit I tried now am also sharing my testimony with over, $10, 000 from the company thanks for the good did he has done for me for this short period of time.

In case you don't know, you are not allowed in the 1st class coaches, if you only have a 2nd class ticket. Not even to cross the train.
Next time just buy the expensive ticket instead of breaking the law!

---Japanese, Shinkansen Train manufacturers, should setup its manufacturing plant, at Faridabad, Haryana, India
& expand Bullet Train or Shinkansen Network, in India, to 35000 Km by 2035---

Sorry to say I don't like the digital transition between scenes. it's visually difficult to watch. Don't remember seeing it used in your other videos. Otherwise good review of this service!
reply

fun fact: we sold the Italians the technology behind the APT, they then spent money on the design, and we brought it back. but the UK Pendolino's are nothing like that! saving money etc
reply

Appear to be, imaculate, ultra modern, disciplined station. with fast train, running altheway through scenic landscape, with marvellous Gothart tunnel to see as well.
reply

The time saved between Milano and Zurich via the new tunnel is 30 minutes, not one hour. Unfortunately the video includes a couple of other mistakes (wrong lake etc)
reply

Well it's no longer that stunning since the opened the Gotthard base tunnel a few years ago. And by the end of this year, the new ceneri tunnel will also open.
reply

I really recommend you a trip on the -Golden Pass-Route- from Luzern to Montreux in winter times. You will definitly not regret ist; ). And a nice Video, too: )

2: 39 Meanwhile in China, when you enter the station building, you'll already be asked to have your ID checked (including domestic services too I believe)
reply

I was surprised to learn that the freight trains are allowed 160 km/h in the tunnel. I didn't know that the rolling stock capable of 160 even existed.
reply

Thank you for an excellent review. The SBB Class 503 is an excellent train, though as you highlight, the seats in 1st Class should have more leg-room!
reply

My wife and I rode this train a few years ago and the AC was broken in our car, with a completely full train. It was summer. Miserable.
reply

There is no leg room on that train, if someone was sitting in front of your legs would be intertwined with theirs! That's horrible!
reply

I clicked this video to watch the beautiful landscape of Alps. But you didn't show anything. You just gave off 15 minutes of my life.
reply

Swiss toilets with blue lights so that junkies cannot see their veins. Not sure how true that is but it always comes back to me.
reply

I say again, if the seating area of a train looks like the seating area on an airplane, the train has very little going for it
reply

At first I was confused that no one wore a mask. Then I saw that receipt and noticed that you filmed this last year.
reply

The windows are bigger than Virgin Trains' Pendolinos. They're more like the windows on the IET with those blinds.
reply

fully agree with your comments about Antwerp and Milan station. Antwerp is the most amazing I have ever seen!
reply

I've got the feeling that he Just does these train walks to avoid the conducter and always ride for free! ;)
reply

In December there will be a new connection ( Zurich - Munich) train will be the pendolino (etr 610)
reply

My experience say that room for luggage is general problem in trains - not only in ones by Alstom.
