The late owner builder of the Redwood Valley, Eric Thomsen, started the operation with a modified Ottaway steamer which I think was 12- gage. After lots of consideration with the Holmes brothers of San Jose, 15- gage, 5- scale seemed to be the perfect park railroad size. Eric built engine 4, rebuilt the railroad to 15- gage and continued improving and expanding it until his passing. It is now operated by Eric's daughter. Thank you Eric for years of enjoyment and your friendship.

Can you do another Amtrak Trains galore video again, or trains in Oceanside? I've caught RBRX 18533 in Oceanside when I was at the beach. I also got my new tripod, and I dream to be a big railfan just like you: D

I used to love this place as a kid! I remember me and the other kids would try to guess what number our train would be. When I was 7 I think I got a book of all of the trains. My favorite was number 11 I think.

Ridiculous whistle signals aside, great video! I've wanted to head up there for quite some time now but haven't gotten the chance.

Hi Mike: That model steam loco is making a lot of power. Cool - We still get a caboose with this railroad.
- Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway -
