You are not FAT you are salty! Get the truth here. Rachel: Can anyone help me I have EDS and POTS and my doctor wants me to get 8-10 grams of salt a day which is really difficult because I am vegan and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables which I don't add salt to. I always try to add a lot of salt to the potatoes pasta and rice that I cook but I'm still not getting 8 grams even with taking three 1 gram salt tablets a day. I hate taking salt tablets because they are really gross but my blood pressure is so low (on a good day it's 90/60 but it's usually around 80/50-45) even with taking medication to increase it and I am always sodium deficient in all of my blood tests. I am also underweight and my doctors want me to gain more weight. I drink 5 L of water as well as one liter of Gatorade but I still feel so dehydrated everyday and when I have to get IVs and blood drawn the nurses always have a hard time because they say my veins roll becuase I am dehydrated. I pee constantly and it is always clear its almost like the water just isn't absorbing in me. My blood pressure tanks whenever I stand up and o really can't stand for more than four more without fainting which makes college extremely difficult.

Oh my god, I haven't consumed sodium for 2 months now and yesterday I was in a rush and absolutely starving so I just grabbed a ready meal (I'm not fully vegan) the ready meal had tuna, half a boiled egg, spinach, potatoes, green beans and olives. It was absolutely DISGUSTING! I felt sick after eating that tuna and olives, and I threw up several times and after that meal are nothing but watermelon and drank water to try and flush out the toxins I consumed. And today my throat is absolutely burning and hurts so bad from throwing up yesterday I think I can see what sodium did to me.

I DEFINITELY have salt cravings. It is always the culprit (with fat) that keeps knocking me off the wagon. But I just came to the realization, the reason is because I was not consuming anywhere near enough dark GREENS. As I was able to drastically increase my intake of greens, the cravings for salt have gone away. The greens are the key. I had to retrain my tastebuds as I always hated raw greens But as I have been doing that, the salt cravings have become nearly non-existent.

Okay, so I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I also have drastically low blood pressure, and according to my doctor, that's what's making me tired all the time. He told me to eat FIVE FREAKING GRAMS of salt a day. I've been a vegetarian for four year, and I'm transitioning into the vegan lifestyle. Someone help. I don't know what to do. Five grams can't be okay, but I'm afraid that if I eat low sodium, my blood pressure will get too low.

Hi dear, love your videos! I have been eating hclf vegan for at least three years, doing no salt at all for over a year, and trying to follow proper food combining, but I am still incredibly bloated! Basically I've looked 8 months pregnant for the last two years, my face is incredibly puffy, and I've gained about twenty pounds, so it's quite discouraging. Why do you think this could be? Much love

When you crave salt eat more vegetables like tomato, it is full of natural salt. I just love it. I must say again Freelee you are right! I started to see big changes on my body when I reduce the sodium, somehow I m slimer in middle section now. I U BANANA GIRL!

Thank you for this! Ive just recently gone vegan and was wondering why i was going to the bathroom so much, now i realize its just my body getting rid of all of this extra water from sodium. My body has 'firmed up' so much from a lower sodium intake.

If you cut out salt, which is a good thing, you should make sure you're getting enough iodine. Pink himalaya salt is a good option, sea vegetables are rich in iodine, or you could take a supplement if you don't consume any of those.

Honestly, whenever I cut down the sodium consciously and drink lots of water, I feel my body firm up. So many people do not realize how much of their extra weight and fluff so to speak comes from water weight.

Makes a lot of sense. I have been a vegan for 1. 5 years and eventhough I ride me bike and try not to be sedimentary I still cannot lose some the fat around my stomach. I suffer from chronic fatigue.
