I know I'm behind, but I've always been fascinated living off grid and the older I get I really want to do it, just one problem. no money. I'm hoping some luck will come my way. One question? How do you support yourself for income? See, I'm a veteran on disability, my disability is not visible and would be capable to live alone off grid. That being said this is why i want to do this because I haven't had much luck in relationships and I've been single for almost a year now and more time goes by I really want this and in the hope one day I will find someone that would love to share living off grid. Keep these videos rolling, they are encouraging. ---

What amazing and fantastic neighbours that you have been blessed with guys! After so long living in the van it must have reduced you to tears with the offer of a cabin with cooking facilities and shower? As for the supply of seasoned wood and the use of the pickup truck, wow! You will have to find a way to pay them back in the future, simply amazing people there for you just when you needed a little help! They, like you are truly amazing! Take care folks!

I know this was filmed over six months ago but if you are reading comments I would suggest a rocket stove for cooking outside. Obviously with your wood burning stove in the yurt you are good during winter. However, a rocket stove could allow you to use the small twigs and small trees to cook with.

I lived in a cabin in the 1980 for a 6 month time span winter in the Rogue River, 55 miles from the Nearest Gas station. you can check out the spot.
It was called Mule Creek off of the Rogue River it's on the the end of the mail boat run I never went on that boat so I just heard about it

one more thing i seen was few dead man branches, take a day to go around find any dead men or hanging broken branches right away never know when they will come down. thus dead man the name. be safe, wish you luck and take care of this great land of ours.

Jake and Nicole, just want to say I-ve been following you two for years and TVA you have inspired me in so many ways. I mean I-ve got this yard in Florida full of Jujube trees and so much more and it all started watching Jake and a tortoise.
