Hi, My name is Robin and I produced this video story. The toll of coronavirus is something we hear about all the time, but many of us do not necessarily see even in New York City.
But the surge of death overwhelmed hospital morgues and forced them to add temporary staff. Among those who raised their hands to help were two college students in N. Y. C, Mariel Sander and Devin Speak. Mariel is a senior at Columbia University, and Devin is a sophomore at N. Y. U. They both had been eager to help medical responders save lives, and never contemplated theyd be asked to help tend the dead.
Mariel and Devin were very much newcomers in a realm where few civilians venture. They each chronicled what they witnessed in photographs or journal entries. Both felt it was important to share what they saw during their brief time as last responders. I thought so, too,
Thanks for watching! Ill try my best to answer your questions below

Maybe Governor Cuomo should not have put corona infected patients into nursing homes, thereby killing thousands of vulnerable people, who were forced to die a painful death all alone and and unprotected.
They could have been put on the hospital ship comfort or into the Javits Center that the president remodeled as a hospital but the Democrats needed to increase the Covid rate. This happened in Detroit New York New Jersey and Connecticut. all states run by democrats!

Thank you for this video. I think it is important to document the experiences of mortuary workers during this World Pandemic. If you want a source for daily world update watch Dr. John Campbell's videos on YouTube. He is a calm voice of reason providing evidence based research and reporting on COVID-19. I am sending love and hugs from Washington State, USA, Jeanne of In Loving Hands Counseling and ASMR.

I thought Hospitals let go of one third of the staff since the covid 19 pandemic did not overwhelm hospital at all. I am aware that the Refrigerated trucks pick up the dead from every hospital. Some sat in the parking lots of hospitals for a long time which is abnormal. Some were plugged in and some were not. Never a surprise in morgues always more bodies than space.

How can someone respect a dead body that much while millions of unborn children are thrown away in a garbage bin? That's seems very ambiguous to me. Society has double standards for sure.

Its amazing that people will believe anything the news tells them. Uni students could make a alien video and people would believe it if it aired on NYTimes, CNN etc.

I feel like Caitlin Doughty (from Ask a Mortician fame) would appreciate seeing this. Maybe give these sudden undertakers the attaboy these individuals need.

This is horrific! How could someone say that more infections is a badge of honor? Those who are infected can end up inside of one of these bag. Wake up Orange Guy!
