MIKE GORMAN once weighed over 500lbs thanks to a food addiction - but the inspired 47-year-old has now lost a staggering 330lbs. Mike, from Rhode Island, has struggled with weight his entire life leading to a roller coaster ride of extreme highs and lows. Mike told Truly: -I was over 200lbs at 10 years old and that was the first time that my family got me on a diet. But as Mike first began to lose some of his weight, it managed to creep back on and he developed a strong food addiction. Mike couldn't control the addiction and he carried on eating whatever he could get his hands on. Mike tried everything to lose weight and knew something had to change otherwise his life was at risk. Fast-forward to today, and Mike has lost an incredible 330lbs through his strong-will and determination. Videographer / Director: Colin Bell Producer: Dav Rich

He should keep the cake-face photo to remind him of his prior life. Others should see it too.
People should laugh with you. Not laugh at you and that photo represents a joke.
Also at people on diets. Its perfectly ok to have an unhealthy meal every once in a while. The difference is to have it once or twice or month or if its a small snack. Once or Twice a week is ok. No need to restrict yourself of every pleasure. Its just to limit it so you don't fall back. Its healthier to still have variety especially if you go to the gym.

Wow. 200 pounds at 10 years old means too much junk food at your disposal. kids that age need guidance from their parents. Congrats on learning how to eat healthy. food really is an addiction and one that-s hard to manage. Good for you!

This man is so eloquent, the way that he talks throughout the entire video makes me truly understand what it must be like to be at that weight. I went from 260 to the 210 that I am now, I still have a way to go, but this man is amazing.

What he said about -my life wasnt just my life- we have honor and duty to our families and to our communities that is really important- made me cry. I wrote it down. I am getting healthy too and eating a mostly Mediterranean diet.

I'm currently down 12 pounds. Trying to get from 237 to 180 or 190 depending on how I feel. Just want to be healthy so I guess the bottom number doesn't really matter. I tell myself nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels.

He lost the weight by dieting and exercising. I can tell no loose skin on arms or legs only on his chest and stomach. When they loose the weight by surgery the loose skin is all over. Good job guy!

Wow how Mark lost it and then put it back was so scary to see, I believe the biggest battle isn't loosing it but maintaining the weight loss. When you hit that goal you have to stay focused.

It-s so nice to see such a kind man succeed! I love that he takes person responsibility for his weight gain and didn-t make excuses. I think that-s really important in maintaining goals.

-I made the scale move but I had done no work on my head. - That is one of the most powerful and enlightening phrases any dieter will ever hear. Well done, Mike.

I-ve dropped 21 pounds after 8 weeks I-ve got a lot more to lose. This scares me to know people who have lost the weight and within months put it all back on.
