All you would be surgeons fashioning a jaw for her is just precious. Do some human anatomy lessons prior to operating on her ok! Cuz the jaw bone isn-t just a bone, Phoney Bony Maronies! It has a hinge joint near the ears. How ya gonna fabricate a jaw joint? Yeah, we already shaved a rib off of her for some structural material. However, don-t ya think that they might have gone the extra yard of making a jaw joint? Aka a temporomandibular joint, it has two articulations in it! Didn-t catch that bit of information eh would be cosmetic butchers? Many of our -joints- have articulations. Which makes replacing them near impossible. Definitely not to be attempted on a structure that isn-t weight bearing. Aka not needed for daily living. Too many nerves in the face as well, to just be hacking away at it. Your breathing and eating originate there too Happy Choppers! Wanna take those abilities away for a better jawline? Oh K-.

Does anyone understand how hard it must have been for this young lady to learn to talk? And yet she talks amazingly well-- My daughter has mouth issues and drools a lot, slurrs her words, lisps and is deaf in one ear but was born deaf in both (she regained in one ear and no one knows why) and has be in speech therapy her whole life. YET my child still had it a lot easier to learn to speak than this young lady who literally has no bottom jaw to form words like we all. do. She is amazing! ---

The video I saw was that- she can-t eat because of her jaw is getting smaller. She-s really amazing person, sometimes when people start to get negative towards to her- it-s not very nice. I think we all know that from her disability that she has. People might think say a lot of negative things about her and her disability. So maybe it-s for the best to not to hurt someone-s feelings.

I-m a CAD specialist and the first thing I thought was I can design her a lower jaw possibly made in titanium with veneers inserted. I don-t fully understand why oral surgeon-s haven-t considered something like that to help her. There-s gotta be some way to create a functional jaw. But I-m no surgeon. Her personality is inspiring.

In a world that is so hyper focused on looks, thanks to the media and fashion industry, I can't imagine the challenge katelyn and many others like her face. It makes sense why some countries have laws on modesty. The constant obsession and unjust celebration of physical beauty in the western world is suffocating.

Some of these comments boy I'll tell ya! It's not as simple as surgery ppl. you would need an artificial jaw with an artificial hinge. then you have to somehow train muscle that she was not born with to move the jaw that she was not born with for eating and talking. not worth the risk

Very aspiring young woman. She has a beautiful family, many talents and she has beat the medical odds. Glad to see her so happy. I do really hope she does find the surgeons who can perform what she wants in the future.
