Today i transform to girly glam - and my mum loves it - transformed

CHLOE from Yorkshire is inspired by gyaru - a Japanese fashion subculture. The subculture is recognised by its many layers of tan and eyeliner. The 22-year-old says that gyaru means a lot to her as it helped to change the perception of herself from something very negative into something a lot more positive. It takes Chloe a whopping two hours to get ready every day as she says: Makeup is everything in gyaru, without the makeup there is no gyaru. Today, she will be transformed into an everyday casual aesthetic, how will she react to herself? Will her mum prefer the new look?

She looks stunning when i comes to the makeup. The dress is horrible, I do not understand why they always choose the worst clothes for these makeovers. That is a dress that does not fit her figure, does not fit her when it comes to color + the wig is not the right type of wig. It should have been longer with some waves or curls or it should have been a bob that is right by the shoulders or just above. The dress should have been shorter, it could still be with some of her style but toned down, i. e more form fitting dress in a knee length and a cool jacket. Some nice pumps. She can still look cool, does not have to look like a Mormon mom of 10

I'm all for someone letting their personality shine and being different but I just don't care for the eye liner. It's too extreme. Believe me I really love anything unique. But for the everyday that seems really crazy. Unless she is like a online personality. I feel like a lot of people who do this have a lot of insecurities about themselves and they use the make up and hair to cover that up.
She looks so so good afterwords!

Koko supremacy!
For those who don't get her makeup style: Gyaru emerged as a Japanese subculture to rebel against the beauty standard
& the intense eye makeup is supposed to not be attractive to you - within the gyaru community, it's considered cute, but it scares away the normies, especially annoying men lel

I'm wondering if the mother wants her to stay with the clown makeup look. on one hand it's nice of her to say she likes Chloe's unique look but on the other hand it would have been great for her to say I really love to see your face looking this way it's so wonderful to see your real face.

The before look don't like the dress or the makeup it looks cartoonist and not my style at all but in saying that she looks comfortable in what she wears and how she looks and if this lady is happy then thats all that matters right. The after look I like the makeup the dress not so much

The way she does her eye's tho they look droopy I'm all for the style, just maybe work on the makeup a bit. Her skin also already looks like she's an egg or has Johndis. unless that's the look she's going for.
P. S. these wigs they put on these poor girls are horrendous.

I thought she was very beautiful either way now saying that the 1 thing I couldn't stand that was driving ne crazy was her eye makeup in the 1st look.
I just want feeling that droopy eye thing lol -

That is the frumpiest dress ever. Not flattering on her at all. They did a good job with the makeup and hair though. I do adore the Gyaru style though! It's a fun and super versatile style.

First person who dresses up on a regular basis and FINALLY accepts that it's time consuming and expensive. They never mention this but clearly it is! She admitted it, for once. No one ever does.

If I had the time energy AND MONEY, I would honestly dress and do my makeup for a different fashion trend/decade/aesthetic everyday of the year. I freaking LOVE all of it. All of fashion.
reply

Where do they get those wigs? - the stylist always picks out horrible clothes no wonder they never like their transformation for every make over I've watched
They're are horrible!

I love the Gyaru Girl Japanese style but unfortunately it is often seen as being racist in western culture because the tanned makeup is seen as blackfishing.
reply

She did the -what the heeeelll- thing lmao --. I also wear gyaru but only at home haven't had a reason to wear gyaru out yet, I wear Lolita fashion mostly
reply

That subculture no longer really exists in Japan for now, it had its heyday the same year she was born, and quickly went out of style by 2003.
reply

living in Japan this is funny, as the gyaru boom died out years ago! maybe this is an old video? she seems lovely in her heart tho love
reply

When many years ago I lived in Japan, I saw so many days of people with this type of make up and clothes. But these days it's not very popular
reply

As another gyaru I wish someone else was chosen for this. Koko is not a good person and has beef with half of the gyaru community -

That dress was hideous. terrible color, fabric, cut and style. The wig was equally bad and super fake looking. The makeup was pretty.
reply

I love the brown hair on her and the softer makeup it suits her. But I do like her more fun clothes more than what they put her in.
reply

Judging by her foundation color, she forgot to mention orange as a favorite color!
Other than that, she's cute either way.

-I-m going to look like an egg, packaged ham-Not even festive ham, packaged ham. Tesco-value- idk why but this part took me out
reply

I don-t even care about anything but the bottom fake eye lashes why can-t u just set them straight and not drooping like that
reply

+barcroftmedia -Given her clean appearance in Normie glam, Miss Tan can pull off a Lolita look, Sweet, Classic, or Gothic. -
reply

Why don't they pick better-looking outfits, to transform into. The wigs are ugly, and the outfits are usually ugly.
reply

She was really pretty with brown hair and natural looking makeup but they couldn't have changed the dress
reply

Ok who the hell picked out that ugly dress cause they could've just did her hair and make-up that's it
reply

Why they always get a granny looking dresses for these makeovers I think she liked it til the dress smh
reply

She never actually explained what gyaru is? I assume it-s like a cross between harajuku and bimbo style?
reply

I am my make up. I am nothing than make up. So I am not. Make up doest think. And cogito ergo sum.
reply

Honestly, the apricot dress was a really bad choice. other dresses might have suited her far more.
