Don’t ever underestimate yourself! When you opened that greenhouse door I wanted to burst out crying! You are a machine! The last time I saw the greenhouse the beds weren’t even full. The workbench area is just crazy! I’ve been watching since the beginning, just enjoying it all. I really need to donate, I’m getting so much out of this. All in due time. You have a beautiful family and you are a wonderful head of the family! I’ll comment again soon. I’m from Michigan/ California. 6 months in Cali, 6 months in Michigan. You can guess which months are which. I’m a 70 year old female who feels like a 20 year old. Jake don’t ever worry about being an older grandpa, it’s what you make of it. Love you guys!

Hey Jake, I started watching you when you started putting the yurt in but I didn't check to see how old the video was. I did follow you religiously from that point though all the way down to the islands and back again Various boats you've had and fishing trips and stuff like that and I really enjoy it I'm 72 this coming friday And I love getting my Vicarious living through you guys, well, some of it at least. I'm a 18 yr Marine Vet (Viet Nam. I love making things with my hands, like braided whips, assembling flintlock rifle kits, throwing axes and knives (not well, just for fun, I love doing things outside. what my electric wheelchair allows me, anyway, LOL.
Well keep up the great vids. Ken

You would benefit big time by going to one of the Norwood videos by other millers on mill set up and log handlling. I'm 78 and can easily turn a log that size with a loading strap wrapped around the log and the other end attached to the fork on my tractor to provide the lift. You sure don't need to take the log off the mill. Also get a 4' long cant hook that you might be able to turn that size log with. Proper mill set up will make your life a lot simpeler. Taking the log off the mill is the hardest possible way to handle it. I've been miiling on Norwood mills for over 20 years and have never had to take a log off the mill to turn it even turning a 30 diameter log 12' long.

Hello from the Caribbean. I am a constant viewer of your videos, from when you guys traveled around the world and then went to buy your first yurt, now you guys are building your shipping container home and trying to take care of your three children. I think doing all of that is pretty amazing. Keep up the good work and keep posting your videos, I truly love the Off Grid life you guys are living. Where I am we are not totally off grid but some of what you all do, we do also, except solar power, it's very expensive to get that here. Anyway be bless

There's a few things about Jake that clash with me, but I watch their videos because there's so much, to learn from them, to admire and to respect him for. I love how good they are to each other and their gorgeous children. The quality time Jake spends with Fox, how he goes out of his way to help Nicole with the twins and still manages to build beautiful, safe buildings for himself and his family. Well done Jake and Nicole. You guys always blow me away with the arduous work you put in, while still taking time to enjoy life.

62 yr old female in Australia, living OG on half an acre, wishing I'd bought more land.
I have an apple tree, 2 mulberry 2 pear, dwarf mandarin and a lemon tree. Also growing okwinowa purple sweet potato, beetroot and silverbeet. I'm a Carer and work 2days a week doing 24 hr shifts. 4 hens that don't lay eggs anymore so I need to find some more, but trying to find some that aren't jibbyjabbed can be difficult.

When i first came to AZ I was told I could only grow garden spring and fall. Yet I grew my garden all year round. When I searched for someone who shared the same ideas. I was like, yes, when I found you. I saw that many of my thoughts and ideas came to life in your garden. Now I just watch you and Nicole building your family. amazing. I got injured, and everything came to a halt. I keep it simple and do what I can. So I celebrate you in your endeavors. Blessings

Jake have you considered a wood kiln to escalate the wood drying process Perhaps a wood shed that dries the wood and then you can store it properly for use later. Love everything you are doing, appreciate the videos and how-to instructions. Please be use safety steps cause it will all to to hell if something happens to you. Wishing continued success and lessons learned-there are no mistakes! Aunt Judy

I’m an 86 year old grandmother of 4 and great grandmother of 5. I just had cancer surgery 4 weeks ago, and am told by pathology that no further cancer cells were found in lymph nodes or in surgical margins or surrounding organs. Thanks Lord. I have been following Jake and Nicole for several years and enjoy the videos, them and the littles! Also the pets! Thanks Jake for sharing your story!

Great job as always! Check out Building a Dream if you like. She is a single woman building her 3 shipping container home in Western Australian bush on her own. Milling HARD Australian Jarrah, building gardens, dams etc. totally off grid. Totally different environment & different in many ways, however the passion is quite measurable if not displayed differently.

Hi. I am 67 young woman living in Nevada. I have the biggest garden yet this year. It has been hard on me but it has also been good for me. I like to share my produce with friends. Not everything grows but I am trying things this year that I haven't tried before & so far they are growing. I have watched you & Nicole for a long time. I wish you both the best.

Hey Jake, don’t engage with trolls. Not too much growing in my food forest but beans, pumpkin, watermelon, banana, papayas, still have collard greens, other than that we’re in the upper 90’s and extremely humid so it’s time to work on my Art. The house is coming nicely. I keep missing the feed, what time do you go life for the East coast (FL)

60 yrs old on Thurs. Live in a city in Southern Ontario. Been watching you guys since the building of the yurt. My yard isn't super large but this year I am trying tomatoes and peppers in containers. If successful I may try more container gardening next summer. I am more into crafty hobbies. Pottery, sewing, crocheting.
