This Born Different special reveals what it's really like living with Tourettes Syndrome Achillies: I cant help but notice that all three started experiencing this when they where younger then to adolescence. Also, the 3 shown signs of weight gain during the onset of the torrents. I wonder if this has any part of this. Like maybe their muscle structures/brain are growing faster than the skeleton and putting pressure on the brain. I just noticed that in all 3 of them. Its might be a coincidence. But worth looking into. Edit: There has to be a connection because they all seem similar to eachother in age, area, gender, something must be connected.

I have a long time friend who has this. He's gotten incredibly good at masking it behind being excitable. It actually took me years to realize he had tourettes! Because his is mostly vocal, and less physical he's figured out mechanisms to hide it behind all kinds of ways. It's hard to explain. But once I realized he had it, it all made way more sense. Edit: he's also a guitarist and absolutely WAILS! It's incredible how good he is at the guitar and it's the only time I ever see him mostly calm and not shouting and standing up really fast repeatedly.

I have tourettes, it was much harder when i was young but as an adult i now have ways to suppress my tics. mine were rapidly sniffing, rolling my eyes, stretching my muscles in odd ways, making animal noises. i do have favorites like copying noises and random funny noises which my girlfriend finds amusing. But i also consider myself to have mild tourettes

Notice how the ones with -Tourettes- always seen to be some variation or combination of: feminist, astrologist, -they/them-, between the ages of 12-19, watch K-drama, have hair dyed wacky colours, and have a general -I have several mental health issues- vibe.
I'll let the -you're a bigot- comments come flooding in. Y'all know it's true.

I have Tourette-s as well and I hate how everyone assumes anyone who says they have it is automatically faking.
Like if everyone is -faking- it then how is there a population with Tourette-s in the first place? I hope you enjoyed my mini rant

reply

You cannot -fake- these disorders.
Malingering individuals faking illness have no idea the harm they are causing actual sufferers and should be legally forced to change their behaviors.
With legal penalties for failing to do so.

that has to be so exhausting, I'm glad most of these people find something they enjoy doing though and go on with life and seem to have supportive families/loved ones.

The second girl is only just bragging about her follower count and flexing her TikTok -
Also, why does it only affect teenage white girls with TikTok accounts?

reply

I'm proud of you -. Laughing at it is the best way to keep you from crying about it. I know I have MS it's a nervous system disorder as well.

My husband has tourettes but it is very mild. just a few tics. Seeing how it could be, though. I can't imagine how much of a pain it could be
