What does 'punch above your weight' mean? Ho: - I used to think mastering English would take me 5 years or more, yet I punched above my weight and achieved it in just about 2 years.
- I'm going to punch above my weight and travel around this wonderful world before this year ending rather than waiting to a couple of years.
- I hardly start to have a conversation with stranger people which I find it uncomfortable to do, an introvert person I think. But, today I've decided to punch above my weight, going to the park near my house and starting conversation with people who I've never met which I think will be awesome.

When I graduated the mechanical engineering college, I punched above my weight. Real story.
Thank you BBC. This is a funny expression to describe people who are not the sharpest tool in the shed achieving respectful positions they don't deserve.
