I really want to leave my comment here. It is not an easy to give some explanation, but I will try to make this. In my opinion the biggest mistake I have ever made is I too late to started to learn English. Well, better late than never.

One of my biggest mistakes was not moved to UK, when I had a chance, having a job experience and, REALLY to improve my English skills with native people. Nowadays it's more complicated, even though if I live in EU country

I always asked myself: why you still dont know English, although you studied it in school and university?And I still dont know the answer, but I do it now, then Im 40. That was one of my biggest mistakes.
