was the knockdown a challenge or was he just letting the female newcomer know who is in charge?
the tackle preceded by a kick seemed to hostile for playing.
that poor mother mother gorilla. another life altered for ever
because Man (not just men in general) think they an take what they want
and when they want it. don't think the Planet of the Apes movies (I refuse to acknowledge the Mark Wahlberg P. OT. A. movie. other than The Happening i'd never seen a worse performance
from a Walburgh. and that's including the bald Wahlberg brother that runs the hamburger joint here in Massachusetts. been told it's great. never been myself)
are so far fetched. i just watched another video here that showed a group of 6 or so bonobo chimps preparing a hunting party. no spoken language. not instruction form. the lead chimp stands
up and looks. waits a sec then heads out. each other chimp involved falls in line. again with no obvious signs of orders or directions. they're going after some monkeys to have
fora meal. bonobo chimps will kill. they will murder. they are cannibals and they're organized and intelligent. they know the smaller monkeys will head up and out to high thin branches
that can hold them but not the chimps. again, this isn't a retold story. this was a documented mission. hidden cameras on the ground an in trees. they had drones. (not the chimps but the humans. at least i didn't see that the chimps had any. i wouldn't be surprised if they did. the lead chimp stayed low and ran and signaled the hunt by drumming his hands onto the
trunk of a tree. another copied him and they were off. one chimp flanked right and one left. 2 chimps went up high to chase and flush the monkeys out to the chimps flanking.
it worked perfect. the monkeys bolted exactly the way it should. the beauty is we see the mission take place on screen. we hear the narrator explain. so far that could be made up
or exaggerated, but they also had drone footage using infrared tracking. just like most of us have seen military footage from a satellite or chopper or a drone. they dark gray black screen and you see people moving around as white people shaped heat signatures. you can see the gunfire and explosions and the people moving.
the footage of the chimps was the same. you see large chimp shaped white figures splitting left right and center. we see the center chimp directing traffic. he's the boss. we see smaller white shapes of the monkeys scattering just like you'd expect. a well planned out virtual military strike with no actual plans written out or painted on cave wall or carved into a tree. anyway, toward the end of only a 5 minute mission and one of the chimps has a monkey cornered toward the top of a 100' tree. the monkey knows that if it stays toward the end of the branch then the
chimp cant follow because he's too heavy. so the chimp has walked out as far as he can without the branch breaking. however, the next tree over has branches up next to where the monkey is.
the chimp on the other tree is on a very thick branch so its holding him fine. now the monkey is almost directly below the monkey by about 8 feet or so. the chimp on the branch with the monkey is as close to the monkey as he can get without falling. he notices that when he makes a quick fake move at the monkey to get him to run also bounces up and down when he moves. that smart little s. o. b. starts to move closer but also bouncing up and down. the other monkey now knows what he's dong and gets directly under the monkey. he does the same thing to the branch he's on.
bounces up and down. timing it so when his partner above is pushing down then he starts jumping up. couple seconds and a few bounces later their teamwork pays off and the lower chimp grabbed the monkey. and all hell breaks loose. the frightening screams the chimps make is chilling. anyway, the chimp that actually throttled the monkey was actually a junior hunting party member and was only trying out. i think he's in though. the alpha male he id not. so while the youngster is running around with his trophy and smashing it into every tree he passes the alpaa runs and whacks him and takes his prize. perfectly normal for them. that's how the young ones learns. unlike many other ape species not only do they hunt but they eat meat including other chimps.
nobody really knows why. the other unusual thing is these hunting, murdering. cannibalistic chimps actually sharing the meat. not like orangs who are vegan don't openly share food. they usually steal from each other while they're actually eating. take the food right out of their cute, hairy, ginger colored vise grip like hands.
after the alpha has had what he wants he'll actually tear chunks off and hand it to another. though when you think about what happened and what's being shared and it bothers a lot of people, and these chimps look and are very scary, one of the cutest things i've seen is the alpha holding the trophy and chewing off pieces and if they have a second in command i think this was him that chimp sits out in front of the alpha and holds one of his arms out palm up and holds it near but not too near the alpha's lunch. he just sits there forever how long it takes to be acknowledged.
then after a bit the alpha tears off a good section and hands it over to our 100lb, hairy, juiced up panhandler.
i'm sorry for this mess. 1st i'm just a guy with no knowledge of chimps other than what i get from youtube. i really have no excuse for leaving a comment that long about chimps. who do i think i am? Joe Rogan? and i could have just posted a link to video and not spend 20min typing and most likely embarrassing myself. please delete this if you'd like. i know you don't need my permission, but i certainly wouldn't be offended and i'd probably do the same if things were reversed.
cheers.

Thanks to the US750 to US1000 for each person paying for a 7 hour trek, 3 hours each way and a maximum allowed 1 hour playing with them. A group of about 5 and 2 or 3 guides will bring in about 5000 a day. More than bush meat.

As humans can pass on cold, flu, and yup you guessed it Covid-19 now. That's why humans just need to stay away from these endangered animals. We can wipe out the entire family with a sneeze.

I like how the idiots in my year level act exactly the way those gorillas did when they try to impress a female.
Let's go push her over, I'm sure she'll be very aroused by that.

It clearly wasnt a contest between the gorillas, They were trying to get rid of the lady and film crew. Stop following! They were after all the rear guards for the troop.

The only reason the male gorillas are quiet is because the lady is damn good. It must be a visual treat for the eyes of male gorillas after being bored with female gorillas.
