Sort out the government and maybe poaching numbers would go down. Give poachers better paid jobs and they may stop poaching. Not every single poacher wants to poach, some poachers are now game wardens, protecting the wildlife they once hunted and are now training more and more people to save animals.

What kind of satisfaction they really got from this innocent elephants tusk. Human will die anyway, no point of prolonged human life by consuming or make souvenirs from Elephant. One thing for sure those who buying or selling elephants tusk will be experience the meaning of hell.

omg its Saba! I've watched you since Big Cat Diary! so wonderful to see you doing what you love. It is heartbreaking but every 1 single Elephant you save has to be worth it. I adopted Nodoku thru DSET. he's adorable! and he's here because of what you all do!

Could dogs be trained to guard herds? or better yet, is there a way to put more remote stands where guards could watch for poachers? just thoughts. On another note, what an amazing life you have and your family has grown! Thank you for all you do.

Poachers are not only responsible fo that, They are also responsible who purchased ornaments made of tusks. Government should take step for also against shop owner and customers, if found any ornaments, hang them till death.

why not flood the market with fake ivory that is indistinguishable from real? I don't know if such a thing exists but if it did it would bloat the supply to the point it was not feasible to hunt them?
reply

I can't help but think that part of the problem is that nothing is being done to the buyers/proposed-buyers. hardly think this would be an issue if there wasn't the high-dollar-demand.

It's weird that the african guy's english is far clearer to my ears than the white guy. It's like the white guy's words are the one that need the subtitle.

Why not open a sniper season? Anyone wiht a high powerd rifle on his body is a target. And you get 100 bucks for every poacher that is cought alive.
