the fact that dogs can smell cancer pretty much proves that wolves can smell it too (other illness too, why just cancer) so you can assume that wolves smell illness for a reason, not just coincidentally, the purpose of this amazing trait was on display in this video.

This guy doesn't seem to understand anything about what he's recording. The wolves seem interested in this old bull for no reason. . if I didn't know better, I'd say I tied my own shoes this morning.
Attenborough or nothing

Is it just me or is this episode extremely odd? A wolf running on its own, 2 bulls standing and chilling alone, the bulls didnt move when wolves came near until very later on. whats with this video?

imagine the night for that old bull, darkness setting in, surrounded by ravenous beasts, aged and weary and racked with illness, finally laying down to die.

i think the wolves know that old animals go isolate themselves before dying and they identifiedthe smell of a lonely bison as the smell of an old dying one

Honestly, the older Bison might have stomach issues, and if the content of his stool has any blood in it, it would alert the wolves to a possible injury.

The narrator just didn't want to admit, that the battery on his drone was running low and then he lost the pack until the next morning. ;)
