In which John Green teaches you about the United States Constitution. During and after the American Revolutionary War, the government of the new country operated under the Articles of Confederation. While these Articles got the young nation through its war with England, they weren't of much use when it came to running a country. So, the founding fathers decided try their hand at nation-building, and they created the Constitution of the United States, which you may remember as the one that says We The People at the top. John will tell you how the convention came together, some of the compromises that had to be made to pass this thing, and why it's very lucky that the framers installed a somewhat reasonable process for making changes to the thing. You'll learn about Shays' Rebellion, the Federalist Papers, the elite vs rabble dynamic of the houses of congress, and start to find out just what an anti-federalist is. Telling history through modern eyes is propaganda. No house of Burgess? Good focus on tyranny, but the solution was authority of govt granted by the people, rights of the people granted by God. Idealism and moral absolutism are critical to understanding the Constitution and the existence of USA. Focus on hypocrisy and you'll just reset us to tribes looking to be colonized and peaceful protesters behaving fascistic. History is a cautionary tale to guide our children, bedazzling it ejects the sober nature that preserves it.

This video is liberal indoctrination. This is used for online College and the video calls all of The United States forefathers racist and speaks against the 2nd amendment. This video is trash and any instructor that uses this is also trash. Any smart american knows the 2nd amendment is the only thing that protects the first amendment especially today.

I grew up watching these videos in high school, I never realized how biased they were until now. Don't let your laziness turn you into a sheep. Read these documents yourself.
