In which Hank and John Green teach you about life on Earth. They won't be giving advice on how life should be lived, because this is a history series. Instead, they'll teach you about the earliest forms of life on Earth, and some of the ways that they developed into the types of life we know, love, and sometimes don't love so much (I'm looking at you here, opossums. You'll learn about prokaryotes, eukaryotes, panspermia, reproduction, a little about DNA, and even a thing or two about trees. Maybe. Good job bypassing the need for processing information, as part of the -life- definition. Without information processing as a requirement for life, mere fire can be called -life-. But once you allow information to be part of the definition, you gotta explain where the information came from. And we all know where that leads. At 4: 23, you mischaracterize Louis Pasteur's conclusion. I will provide it here: -Never will the doctrine of -spontaneous generation- recover from the mortal blow of this simple experiment. There is no known circumstance in which it can be confirmed that microscopic beings came into the world without germs, without parents similar to themselves. - SPONTANEOUS GENERATION is what fell in the Pasteur experiments. the very thing your claim happened one day. Y'all keep looking for that spontaneous generation, now. Dr. James Tour says you haven't got a clue.

paul berent as above so below? Yeah it-s all just firing synapses. Perceptions caused by the creation of virtual particles created as thoughts of the photon aka THE LIGHT! Not by any coincidence. the thoughts of the light are then expressed, as they move at the speed of light they are given meaning according to the formula E=MC2. mass is recorded as Dark Matter and energy is recorded as Dark Energy or anti(not)matter. The frequencies of movement at C2 are then assigned meaning as angstroms and decibels or the sights and sounds of our physical perception of reality. This is the -meaning- Einstein speaks of in this quote --It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. -

I have discovered how single celled organisms had transformed into multicelled complex life. I know the conditions, the events, and the process down to the DNA level. I am preparing to write the manuscript for science journal publication for all to know. I have confirmed 90% of my research with empirical evidence, and only have circumstantial evidence for the final 10%. I am confident I can get the info I need for the final 10% through some field research. I simply need the funds to travel to a number of continents to collect samples to analyze, and then I will be able to publish a few secrets of life. -
I have also discovered a few additional factors for how life emerged on Earth some 4000 million years ago.

Science (the study of the natural and physical world) is based on nullus in verba -nothing by word- or -show me the experiment-. So there is no room for dogma including the dogma that life comes from non-life.
It should be the hypothesis that we seek to verify but we also cannot deny that currently all scienctific evidence shows us all life only comes from life. And that our growing understanding of the chemical complexity needed for a first -simple- cell tends to show that abiogenesis is more and more doubtful.
A just-so story does not elucidate the reality of our physical universe but is merely a creation mythology.

Does anyone know how complicated a bacteria is? Evolution states that life emerged from self assembling atoms. This is the very definition of evolution even though it is a pseudo science. The most complex thing on the planet earth ( THE HUMAN BRAIN, could not have come out of a puddle of mud or ooze. That would be impossible. Even your abiogenesis still involves the self assembling of atoms. Again that would be impossible. Evolution = Self Assembling Atoms = Impossible

So this is the first crash course video I've ever watched. And I was watching it thinking, -Wait. Why does that guy look so familiar? - And I realized that it was the same guy (aka John Green) that frickin ripped my heart out and tore it to pieces with his NY Times bestselling book The Fault In Our Stars!
Ah. Good times

Speculation gone wild. Intelligent design is a no brainer. A protein cannot form without precision instructions. DNA can replicate but it can't create. nor code itself. No matter how far back you regress information ALWAYS comes first. because a protein cannot form without a directed process.

My theory of life: Technically, there is no meaning to life. We evolve, we learn, then we die. We eventually loose all of our knowledge because we learn so much, we can-t take anymore. We have to forget the things we know, to learn new things. we just evolve and die, so there is no meaning to life.

I was raised as a Christian and held on as long as I could but Science actually answered my questions while religion just left me empty.
Religion is quickly dying because it doesn't really help people make good decisions in modern life. Give it time and it will die. I can't wait.

Did he seriously use the level ignorance of us presidential history as similar to the ignorance of the origin of life?
That alone made me avoid this instructor.
No matter how accurate your conclusions are, it does matter how you get there
