Plays about Romans in a Roman setting would be -Fabula Togata, - fables dressed in the ordinary togas that Roman men wore. (-Fabula palliata- would be fables where people dressed in the Greek style cloaks instead) -Fabula Praetexta- referred to plays about important Roman historical figures. Literally it would mean -fables dressed in purple trimmed togas, - the sort of clothes that only important government magistrates were permitted to wear. It is not about ordinary Romans, but about their rulers.

I mean. I came in here generally in favour of theatre, but now I am thinking that, yes, I would probably prefer to go watch a sea battle in an arena or naked mimes over a bunch of dudes standing on stage and delivering lines of greek.

What happened to the subtitles? The last video had normal subtitles, but this one only has the crappy auto-generated ones that are terrible in videos like this that incorporate lots of foreign words.

Can you PLEASE correct the thumbnails and titles to use -Theatre- with an RE instead of an ER and the end? It-s what-s used for stage theatre. A -Theater- usually refers to the building.
