In my opinion the Springfield is in Massachusetts. Judging on how one of the episodes includes the family going to Boston. And on the way there a Dunkin Donuts cup is thrown at the car. Which mass is known for having hundreds of dunkins in just 1 city. (Same as Rhode Island. But that is never shown in Family Guy)

I thought The Simpsons started in the year 1986, that was the year I was born and I remember specifically on one of the anniversaries, that I was the exact same age as The Simpsons had been on TV. I could be wrong though.

To be fair Homer and Marge would now be over 70 years old since on couple first season it was stated that they both are over 40 but later on the producers lowered their age to be over 30
