Economy Comparison - SOUTHEAST ASIA vs SOUTH AMERICA - ECONOMIC and DEVELOPMENT COMPARISON Really hoping tourism for Asean will kick it up a notch- this place is more diverse than many think! Like my country The Philippines on it's own was forced to unite under Spanish colonization so we have about 200 different ethnic groups so imagine just how diverse the other countries in this region are combined!
It's literally a -melting pot- Asean could really bring in some tourists since tourists can find and explore many different cultures within a close range from each of em

Don't forget, SA have a headstart while most of SEA country still under colonialism SA country already start developing their economic growth but despite that the gap is so little now, it show you how frightening these SEA country economic growth is, not to mention most of these SEA country still have so much natural resources in their hand that they still haven't exploited yet, ASEAN country future looks bright to me is they can maintain their momentum like this.

You all see this video until finish or not? ASEAN's GNI PPP per Capital is $22, 470 compare to South America's GNI PPP per Capital only $13, 994. South America much poorer per person than South East Asia. That's the fact dude. Singapore & Malaysia infrastructure alone much more better than your top Brazil, Argentina & Chile. ASEAN economy growth 5x more than South America! ASEAN will be next Europe or next East Asia! ---
reply

don't forget, the fall of south east asia was because of colonial past by the european (and japan too) for more than 4 centuries, they just started again after ww2.
after ww2, there was still vietnam war, and US installed puppet government in my country, indonesia, which ruled for 32 years
in china they call it century of humiliation
we should call it CENTURIES of humiliation

This videos is ridiculous, as everyone can see is biased. The videos about Asia only show nice and positive things while about South America is evidently unvalued.
Life quality is a lot better in South America than in South Asia which has overpopulated countries and poverty spread around. Singapore shouldn't be deemed to be a country as it is tiny.

The two great colonial powers in South America are Spain and Portugal only. Portugal for Brasil, now the largest economy in whole of Latin America. There was no UK as it only got British Guiana and Belize next to Mexico, some Dutch next to Venezuela and France since French Guiana is part of the french Department, which considered part of whole France.
reply

The Philippines and Brazil-s Spanish speaking neighbors are colonize by Spain Guyana, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Myanmar by Britain while Indonesia and Suriname by the Netherlands Cambodia, Laos, French Guyana by France although French Guyana is part of France Brazil and East Timor by Portugal and Thailand is only country never colonize

Southeast Asia has its own industry poor.
Economic and military power are dominated by other countries.
It is the region with the lowest physical ability.
Except for the African continent, it is the least developed area.
They are unlikely to develop on their own.

reply

They gained independence like a long long time ago while sea countries just got their independence this mid late 20th century plus we are more prone to disasters but still have a stable economies I can say that after 10 years sea countries will surpass south america
reply

Do you compare South America-s Mercosur with Visegrad from Europe because both have Popes Mecosur (Pope Francis of Argentina) and Visegrad (Pope John Paul II of Poland) whose middle is a Pope from Visegrad-s neighboring Germany who is Pope Benedict XVI
reply

Just a clarification since y-all don-t seem to understand, South America being a -continent- and south East Asia being a region doesn-t mean anything. SEA happens to have a higher fertility which means more people to industrialize the region is all.
reply

As a Filipino, I can say Philippines is in between. We are south east Asians but we are related more to south america in terms of culture due to Spanish Colonization.
So I would say. go southeast asia and South America!

reply

the biggest power of SA is Brazil e they were in the worst decade of history, but it probably will change in the next 10 years and the it will help South America grow Again.
reply

Honestly putting up any region/continent against Southeast Asia is just setting SEA up for failure --
Like you do NOT understand how POOR we r over here yoooo!

reply

Asean will be huge in the next 10 years. Indonesia alone projected to be the 5th biggest economy by 2030, and the neighbor countries also following become stronger.
reply

Southeast Asia is more developed
I support Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia are becoming world power

reply

I find it really weird how South east asians see their region as a colective while here in south america everyone is more like at their own
reply

This is similar to comparing Raya and the Last Dragon and Encanto because of their culture Raya-s Southeast Asia and Encanto-s South America
