Carthage vs Gallic Ambush - Hannibal. The Carthaginian general marches through Gallic territories of the Allobroges and Centrones after the Siege of Saguntum in 219 BC and the crossing of the Rhone river. The Gauls initially agreed to help Hannibal and his army navigate the mountain passes after receiving a substantial amount of wealth from the Carthaginians. Hannibal's army is composed of hoplites and mercenaries from Iberia, Numidia, Lybia, and Celtic tribes. They are seasoned warriors, having fought in the Iberian Wars in the previous years. He also brought his war elephants which he intended to use in the Italian peninsula against the Romans. His main goal now is to cross the Alps before the winter comes as he fears Rome will muster another army comes spring. Not trusting the Gauls, Hannibal prepares for a possible attack from the deceitful Gallic tribesmen and he is right. As he gets toward the mountains and hilly forests, the Gauls prepare an ambush against the Carthaginian general. This is a historical battle, however, the details of the fight and number of men fighting, and the casualties sustain may differ in this cinematic. This cinematic was realized using Attila Total War with the Ancient Empires mod. These videos take a long time to make. Very interesting, very well done and I appreciated the whole as a war gamer. But is it historically totally false if you use Livy and Polybius narrations. The attack probably came from one sine of the road, and Hannibal had positioned himself and some troops above the point of attacks. Some modern authors think that the attacks were more harassement and pillage than a massive attack aimed at destroying or blocking Hannibal.

Hello Aditu Laudis. Could you make a video between the Roman legionaries and the barbarian populations (I would prefer Italialians) against each other
Or always the Roman legionaries against the ancient Franks or the Mongols in a somewhat imaginative and interesting battle to find out who would win between the Romans and the Mongols or the ancient Franks.
BYE BYE.

Poor Celts, they were ancient military. Whose time had passed.
At one time they dominated Europe, but lost out to the Roman, Frank's, & Germanic.

Doesnt matter if you have the strongest men or not. If you have a terrible leader you are so screwed.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend
I don't think the Gauls ever heard this proverb

For a force that was a bit over that of Carthage, they sure lost alot of troops.

Hannibal had a level of command and control that was almost supernatural.
