The Third Balkan War - Explained in 20 minutes - Balkans during WW1
video description
However, it is considered an isolated language within the language family. Most Indo-European languages belong to some subgroup of Indo-European that consists of closely related languages (France, Spain, Italian - Romance languages; English, Dutch, German - Germanic languages, Albanian is the only surviving member of its subgroup. As such, it is not particularly close to any of the other Indo-European languages.
Because its earliest common ancestor with any other living Indo-European language was spoken over 5000 years ago, Albanian is quite distinct.
Until about 2000 years ago, there were several languages related to Albanian spoken in the Balkans. Most of these Paleo-Balkan languages became extinct when the Romans or Greeks invaded. Albanian is the sole survivor.
Despite the distance between Albanian and other Indo-European languages, its membership to the family can be demonstrated beyond doubt, by comparing it to Proto-Indo-European (PIE, the reconstructed common ancestor of all Indo-European languages. Some examples:\r\n

Balkan Peninsula has so many nationalities but not all of them have their own state. The best example are the Aromanians, the oldest inhabitants of the Balkans, aside from Greeks (Vlachs/Makedons/Balcan Latins) who fought for all the states they live in (Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, North Macedonia, even south Serbia, but were ignored or even slaughtered in the 19th and 20th centuries by those countries. The only state that recognises them as a separate ethnic group is North Macedonia. In Bulgaria, Greece, Albania or Serbia, they are called as vlach/vlasi but they have no ethnic rights, they are continuously assimilated even though their unofficial numbers are significant.

Princip was not a -Serbian extremist-! Rather oddly, this video describes the Black Hand as a -pan-Slav- organization, which in fact was a secret society of Serbian military officers in Belgrade that was ideologically diverse but did include much outright Serb ultranationalism. Yet Princip, a Bosnian student who was himself an ethnic Serb but conspired with all ethnicities, and whose earnest and pure pan-Slavism has never been in doubt (his sole and only desire was for the Slavs to unite and expel the Austrians, gets called a -Serbian extremist. -

So guys, better to drink Ouzo, Rakija, Raki or Arak, instead of fighting. You have kicked we Turk's asses from Balkans and it was your right to have your own free lands. Enjoy your beautiful lands, and you are all welcomed to Turkey for having your holidays, you have to pay for it but nowadays it is even cheaper than going somewhere in your own countries. Bulgars, Greeks, Turks, Serbs, Albanians, Bosnians, Rumenians, Montinegrans, doesn't matter, we still have so much in common. Hungarians? You are a bit far from Balkans dudes sorry: )

The romanian part of the war is something I learned from -The last night of love, the first night of war- by Camil Petrescu, the BEST book the educational system has ever given us for bacalaureat. It is such an amazing book. It describes the division from Rucar, and lowkey the one from Azuga (where I live-. Every time I go to the monument of the killed from Azuga, I do a cross and stay there for around 10 seconds.

Respect to Bulgaria for holding the Macedonian front all by itself against the Allies. They literally mobilized every single able bodied man. They fought bravely in all 3 Balkan conflicts, scored many victories and regained a lot of land. only to lose it all again in the end. Losing the Aegean coast especially must have sucked monkey balls. But hey, it's all the EU now so it really doesn't matter.

The Serbian army retreated through the Albanian mountains, during the winter of 1915-16, known as the Great Serbian Retreat, ' the greatest and most tragic event in the Great War- out of 400, 000 soldiers and civilians, only 180000 made it to the Adriatic coast, to be evacuated by the Allies. the rest, 220, 000! died during the retreat through the mountains. You failed to mention this man.

At 14: 24 -Alpine -corpse- - No, the word is -corps-, pronounced 'core', so 'Alpine core' sounded.
BTW, a -corps- is a group of divisions operating under a single command. In USA usage, a corps is an operational command only. Logistics and special functions are handled by an -army- (a group of corps and separate units under a single command) or other support units.

Meanwhile, Austria-Hungary still hadn't dealt with Serbia, so the central powers enlisted some help. Bulgaria wished it was bigger and was still bitter about losing the second Balkan war. The Central Powers promised to make all of Bulgaria's wildest dreams come true if they helped. So they signed on and together they knocked out Serbia.

Stop spreading the myth that the Austrian ultimatum was -intentionally unacceptable-, it's getting boring, and to dismantle it, it's sufficient to say that 9 out of 10 demands were accepted (the only unaccepted was the one about conjoint investigation, which perfectly shows that indeed Serbian officials were involved in assassination)

do not confuse north macedonia with ancient macedonia; the territory to the north of ancient macedonia (macedonia prima) was called macedonia secunda or macedonia salutaris by the romans, currently it is called north macedonia, only half of this territory was conquered by fillip II, that leaves skopje in the kingdom of dardania

Well Transylvania has been part of the Kingdom of Hungary from the the very beginning (AD 1000) so -Romania- - which was established by the -imported- German ruler in 1878 with the unification of the 2 neighbouring pricipalities (Wallachia and Moldavia) under a new -brand- - couldn't claim it historically.

Overall, good information but radically mispronounces very basic words and many statements appear to be incomplete. The use of prepositions is incorrect and inconsistent. Sometimes it seems that the narrator is just skipping a series of words or phrases in a sentence. But overall decent information

Very one-sided comentary of the macedonian front. Bulgaria advanced into northern greece and macedonia and won 8 battles. Once they had to fight french, british, greeks, and serbians bulgarians rebelled and abandoned post. The luck of the greeks never seizes to amaze me. Time will tell.

Look the map. How calm would be our region without serbian state.
If they could go back from where they came from.
Serbs are those who everytime create tensions and make atrocities against other nationalities.

It's funny how they write nonsense in the Yugoslav textbooks. Yes, Bulgaria lost all the wars, but the Bulgarians marched in Belgrade, Bucharest, even Istanbul and Thessaloniki, nobody marched in Sofia.
