Very clear, informative tutorial. Most helpful.
I had no idea what freeze panes did (or that it even existed), but recently received a spreadsheet that had frozen panes. However, a warning came up when I tried to edit the sheet. Had to look the function up and found this video. I will be using this function regularly from now on. Thank you so much!

completely beside the point but i need some help. I have a spreadsheet for tv shows and i wanted excel to put the month the tv show was seen in whenever the episodes watched=the total episodes. it worked at first but the month keeps changing every month?? could you please help me keep it as it is when it is first filled?

I wouldn't say -new- and -old- way... they are //different// ways. Specifically, Freeze Panes > Freeze Panes will allow you to freeze any row/column combination you want so that you can infinitely view how many top rows and how many left columns you want, depending on where you freeze.

I am wondering if you have a tutorial on how to freeze panes vertically- not only the first row since I have very long spreadsheets and would like sometimes to hide various row various place on the vertical line- is it possible to hide multiple panes?
