I think he attracts blame and criticism because of how predatory he sounds - that he had to be the best among others, that that particular moment he captured WAS worth the millions it cost. He's documenting something interesting, participating in a kind of fetichisation of people that show an intuitive understanding of what powerful icons means to the human mind. but he seems to really think of those performers as gods and him as a kind of superior priests for approaching them, which is disturbing, unhealthy relative to those performers, and quite insulting relative to the rest of us

Well for those folks who didn't get a lesson in this talk, Let me describe it within a few sentences:
1. Whatever be your profession, if you are really passionate about it, you should connect to your client deep enough. Try to connect with them personally.
2. Give your best effort transform your clients' lives in a positive way.
3. If your client doesn't agree with you on a decision that actually benefits them, then use human psychology to convince them.
It's that simple

I could listen to him talk about his pics forever! I love the passion of his ideas ans the willingness to do anything (like sit at a famous friend's grandmother's bedside, and photo that intimacy. that vulnerable, personal space. Or drop his pants in a room full of people) lol: -) seems like my kinda people. Keep up the great work. your a visionary.

You idiots can't get the gist of this talk because your negative attitude towards hip-hop is so big that i crushes everything else. Shutting down your ego for 6 minutes must be impossible.
This is about the passion you need to have in order to deliver your best work in art.
I feel sorry for your ignorance.

Despite his music taste. I think this is so cool how he's gotten the privilege to photograph all these people and do an amazing job and that there's a message behind it. I don't understand what everyone's deal is.
