When you breathe, you transport oxygen to the bodys cells to keep them working, while also clearing your system of the carbon dioxide that this work generates. How do we accomplish this crucial and complex task without even thinking about it? Emma Bryce takes us into the lungs to investigate how they help keep us alive. Lesson by Emma Bryce

The somatic motor system controls the skeletal muscles, like the diaphragm and muscles in your ribs. The autonomic nervous system DOES NOT control the diaphragm. The reason why you breathe automatically is because of the pacemaker cells in the respiratory control center in the brainstem can generate their own electrical signals (action potentials) and they send signals to the motor neurons that control the diaphragm. This is one of the biggest misconceptions my physiology students have. Come on, TED-Ed!

Lovely Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Taparton Sturdy Nerves Takeover (google it? It is a good one of a kind guide for Getting rid of Neuropathy minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my buddy at very last got great success with it.

Why in your animation you'd show all of oxygen moving to other side and all of CO2 moving to opposite side. I'd think that happens only partially until they're balanced, if only diffusion is in action.
